This was not a part of our plans, just to get a nights rest before flying home. We went directly from the airport to Cusco, and this was the only way we could get to our return flight. As it was, I made a mistake on the timing of the flight (1am not 1pm) and so we had an extra whole day in the city. We really enjoyed it. The first day we did the tourist bus from Miraflores, and that was ok (tough to understand the English part of the dual language tour). We then checked out the coastal area briefly before going back. Day 2 was an adventure because I had messed up the flight timing. We made the best out of it by renting a car and going back to some of the areas we saw the previous day. We found a great vegan restaurant and got to check out the beaches, which are VERY different than anywhere I've been in the world, and I have traveled for 20 years on business. The people are pretty nice but almost exclusively speak Spanish. Google translate is your friend. A lot of drama getting to the airport at night, the traffic at 9pm was so crazy. But we certianly saw enough that we really don't need to go back. Two days is good for this place. And in our two days, it was really 18 hours total.

Lima is an amazing city.
Lima is an amazing city. If you are a city person you will enjoy. We stayed in Miraflores and walked a lot. Many great restaurants to explore. Loads of parks. People watching. We never felt unsafe. Historical Lima is great to stroll and take in the history. Ceviche ceviche and more ceviche. China town and the market. Request your pisco sour dry if you don't like sweet cocktails. I would go back in a heart beat!

This is not in Lima but in Playa Zorritos.
This is not in Lima but in Playa Zorritos. The condo unit was generally ok but it was missing things like a toaster, knives that can cut, a choice of pillows, sheets that fit and were not threadbare. Overall things needed to be painted.

Lima is one of the best cities in the world if you are into culinary delights. It is also a great place to visit if you enjoy a rich history from ancient to modern times, with great architecture and archeological remains.
The people in Lima are super friendly and if you stay in a tourist area you will find that many people speak and/or understand English.
Some of my favorite spots include the Historic Center of Lima; most of the museums; the most recommended restaurants, the beaches, and some of the Shopping Malls.

In Lima, there is so much to do and visit.
In Lima, there is so much to do and visit. I recommend doing a tour with a local tour guide. Uber is the best way to travel and is reasonably priced. I love Peruvian cuisine, and the restaurant scene is a must if you are going to visit.

We stayed only one night in Lima and we felt it is just enough time to visit.
The city is huge with a lot of poor housing and doesn't feel very safe.
The recommended tourist spots took as just half a day to visit - so we had time to roam around the local artisanal market to buy souvenirs, and to sit in one park and just relax.
The main square was almost closed for pedestrians due to some demonstration happening later during the day, so there was a lot of police there. Probably, that's why it felt rather safe around.
The Palace and the Cathedral were closed for this reason, but I assume it would not take us too long to visit them and should be manageable in one day.
The Santo Domingo market we accidentally found is really a great spot to buy souvenirs - as the prices are at least twice cheaper than on the street shops. They do not accept cards, but agreed to take US dollars at a great exchange rate when we ran out of Soles.
The Kennedy park is just a joke - a tiny playground overcrowded with local kids. What is even more disappointing about Lima is that this playground looks to be the only one in the whole 10-million city, which was really shocking to my kids: for example in the Malecon de Miraflores the so-called kids playground is just an area where you can play with a ball that you brought from home, and nothing else - not even a single swing or slide.
The restaurants in Lima look to be way too overpriced, especially knowing the average cost of living in Peru in general. The one we visited was fine, but the one I found in Machu Picchu was even better.
In a nutshell, if you need to save time for other places in Peru, like Cusco - you can easily avoid staying in Lima at all: you won't loose too much. If you have time, Lima is a nice city to visit, but I can't imaging myself staying longer than 1 night and don't have high expectations.
Two stays at The Atrium, initially for one night in a double room upon our arrival in Peru, then two nights at the finish of our stay in Peru, when we booked the top floor suite, which has plenty of room and outdoor balconies.
Centrally placed in Miraflores, with good options for local restaurants, shops and for getting about the city.
Good breakfasts and great, helpful staff.
Hotel will book you a taxi which is great, or you can use an airport transfer bus from the Info centre which is also good.
The hotel is very well located in Miraflores about 45mins from the airport. There are lots of restaurants, bars banks, money changers and places to buy SIM cards very close to the hotel.
We were upgraded to a king suite which was very spacious and well equipped. Everything very clean and a nice bathroom with lots of hot water. Bottled water delivered each day and a kettle in the room.
Good buffet breakfast with ability to order eggs and bacon etc.
I would definitely stay here again.
The people working here is very nice and some speak english also. It was a perfect stay both 2 times after and before fly and we were very happy to have a room near airport with nice taxi driver and we could even book some special services because the honour and the people who work there are so very friendly and try to help us. Thank You a lot for everything, when we will be in Lima again it is a must to be in this nice place 😊🪽
Martha and her husband are just the very best hosts you can wish for! We stayed there twice (before and after Cusco). We could leave some of our backpacks there. The breakfast was really good. They gave us Tipps for Lima - thanks to them we really enjoyed our stay. They also helped us with getting cheap airport taxis. The neighborhood is really nice and save. We would definitely stay here again! Muchas gracias!
I stayed in the single, my parents stayed in a double. Duncan was a fantastic host and wide Saudi made a delicious omelet breakfast every morning. Immaculately clean rooms, spacious, nice fan to keep cool. 15 minutes walk to most miraflores sights. Comfy beds and linen, my room was nice and dark in the morning so i could sleep in. Best losing during my time in Lima, Cusco and Machu Picchu.
Great place to stay in Lima in one of the best locations in Miraflores, you just can walk to Larco, many restaurants and shopping stores. Very safe location as well.
Gabriela is very friendly and she will make sure you’ll get anything needed in a timely manner.
This place is very comfortable, you will have everything needed for a great stay.
Very recommended! :)
Good location in Miraflores.
The hotel looks old but is well preserved and clean. Very confy queen room and liked the pool.
The staff in general quite nice.
I could also leave my luggage for few hours and they give a receipt.
It's very convenient that the Airport Express bus stops just in front of the door (from and to the airport).
This hotel is well located in Miraflores, not far from the main street. I stayed here on two occasions (four nights and two nights respectively), as Miraflores was recommended to me as a safe location for visitors to Lima. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable.
The hotel has an excellent central location in Miraflores. The room was very clean, spacious, quiet, comfortable and functional: good/strong air conditioner, hair dryer, electric kettle, fridge. Everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
The stuff was very kind, friendly and helpful.
this hotel has a lot of character. it has several beautifully appointed shared seating areas through out the property. a nice restaurant with outdoor seating and music on Saturdays. the hotel is in Miraflores, an upscale area in Lima. many restaurants and cafes within walking distance.
Amazing location in Miraflores, next to many restaurants, shops, and cafes. I was able to do an ocean run prior to the amazing breakfast that was offered by the hotel. We had stayed in city central in Lima prior during our trip, next time however, we will come back to Miraflores.
best location if you just want to sleep over in Lima and head to Cusco or other cities earlier in the morning. The room is standard and the buffet is great. The price is not cheap compared to the ones in Miraflores but giving the location. Worth it
The location is perfect for walking through Miraflores and also to visit the Barrancos and San Isidro neighborhoods. Breakfast is honest, the staff was friendly. The best part of this hotel room was the bathroom, which was spacious and very clean.
This hotel is clean, comfortable and located near airport with shuttle service. The staff is friendly, helpful and accomodating. They offer an excellent breakfast buffet and the restaurant food is tasty!
Location is virtually dead center in Miraflores. The staff is the best: 5am taxi to airport was there by 4:50am. A 5am check-in went fast. I stayed here several different times over last 6 weeks.
The location is great. Close to all the restaurants and attractions in Miraflores. The area is really safe you can walk around at any time. The hotel also have a good breakfast.
Miraflores is probably the best location in Lima a this hotel is very comfortable. The room was big, good looking. We had a junior suite, with all we needed.
