Playa Blanca is the newest, and arguably quietest, large resort on Lanzarote, which makes it popular with families. It is partially sheltered from the Atlantic winds by the dormant Montaña Roja volcano, and volcanic rock lines its sandy beaches which are spread around a bay.
There are 3 main beaches: Playa Dorada which is popular for watersports, Playa Blanca – the most peaceful, and Playa Flamingo which is overlooked by shops, bars and restaurants serving locally caught seafood. Further east the long stretches of sand give way to the rocky Papagayo Coves whose beautiful scenery is depicted on many a postcard.
A promenade linking the 3 beaches is lined with luxury hotels and resorts available on Booking.com, many offering all inclusive options and some even have their own water park. There are also lots of cheap apartments and private villas in Playa Blanca, some of which overlook Marina Rubicon. The Castillo de las Colorados watchtower sits on a rugged piece of headland looking across the Atlantic Ocean towards the hilly terrain of Fuerteventura.
Ferries to this neighbouring Canary Island depart from just across the bay and offer beautiful views back across the whitewashed buildings towards the mountains behind Playa Blanca.

Playa Blanca is a lovely place with great restaurants and beaches. Perfect for families as it's busy enough without being too crowded. We stayed just 10 minutes walk from Rubicon Marina where there are some lovely restaurants such as Lani's which has live music and is right on the water. If you want a table right at the waters edge at a specific restaurant, I'd suggest booking but if inside is your preference, then most take walk-ins depending on the time you head out for dinner.

We liked the marina area for eating out and walks.
We liked the marina area for eating out and walks. We ate at some good restaurants in various parts of Playa Blanca, we enjoyed the Casa Rosa and went there twice. Excellent fish and good service.
It was easy to walk all around the resort, we didn’t have a car but everything was nearby, good supermarkets, shops, restaurants.

We usually stay in purto del carmen , but we thought we would try somewhere different. Playa Blanca is lovely but a bit too quite for me
There are some lovely restaurants but the night life was too quite.

The walk along the shoreline into Playa Blanca from our hotel near the lighthouse to the marina was very pleasant. Although most nights we ate in the hotel, we also ate in an Italian on Calle Irlande near the lighthouse. It was called Gustos and I would highly recommend it - the food was exceptional and the service and decor was lovely and you must book as it was also very popular. We also ate in another Italian called Avenida 55 which was much more simple in decor but the food was delicious and great value for money.
Taxis were plentiful and very reasonable.

The marina is very upmarket with excellent restaurants and shops. The beaches in playa Blanca are gorgeous yellow sand. The town is Great for shopping, and restaurants, coffee shops You can get a bus that goes to many other towns on the island. You can get many tours over the island from Playa Blanca.
The sunsets October to December are stunning. Always about 22 degrees and no mosquitoes. A fabulous place to go to in uk winter, to get some warmth and sunshine in only 4 hours flight
Spacious two bedroom villa with all mod cons and decent size swimming pool in large patio area. Can use all the facilities of Hotel Volcan just over the road, but we preferred to just sit by the pool and chill. Ricardo the complex manager was very helpful and professional. The location is brilliant sitting just above Marina Rubicon where there’s a great selection of restaurants and shops. Playa Blanca centre is around 1km away though easily accessible by a cheap taxi if you don’t fancy the walk across the promenade.
This is a great place to stay in Playa Blanca. The villa was very clean as was the pool. It was nice and quiet, with friendly neighbours. There is a supermarket nearby where you‘ll find everything you need. You can reach the Papagayo beaches by foot or by car and the place is perfect for trail runs. It’s also a great location to explore many sights of the island like Timanfaya, Salinas, many volcano hikes etc. Everything was super easy to organize and the hosts were very responsive. We can only recommend this place!
What did we like - everything - it was amazing, so homely, comfortable.
The reception staff were incredible.
The whole complex is immaculate, the cleaners, the maintenance staff, residents everyone there is just incredible.
Villas have everything you need - coffee makers, every kind of cooking utensil - we were completely at home.
We had spent the 1st week of our holidays in a hotel and we were so sorry we could only spend 2 weeks in Casas it was just brilliant 😊
The hotel couldn’t really be in a better place, 5 minutes in either direction to the marina or the town. The food is your normal Playa Blanca hotel experience but if you can afford it you should probably upgrade to the Preferred Club - you get access to waiter service and it’s a little bit quieter. The cocktail are top quality. The hotel looks and feels clean. But by far the best thing about this hotel is the staff - smart, friendly and efficient
Fabulous location on sea front between Marina Rubicon and town of Playa Blanca. Modern stylish hotel. All staff were lovely. Great facilities. I was worried would be too big a hotel but split up into different restaurants etc. Also given a half arrival hour slot for evening meal which made things run smoother. Food was a good standard and lovely buffet restaurant design with indoor and outdoor. Would definitely come back.
The host allowed a slightly earlier check-in (which was appreciated) and provided clear instructions regarding access. On arrival, we could not find any sheets for the sofa bed, however this was resolved quickly with the host, following a Whatsapp message, despite it being Xmas day. The apartment could not be in a better location, right in the centre of Playa Blanca. For my friend use of a washing machine was a bonus.
The hotel was amazing! It is so beautiful, great pools and facilities. The breakfast each morning was lovely and had a good range of foods. Everywhere in the hotel was so clean and rooms were spacious, with a balcony and beautiful views. Hotel was about 10 minute walk from centre of playa Blanca. The hotel had a lovely chilled vibe with great music by the poolside. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
Newly renovated with good pool access. Quiet location. In the marina (not port) with good access to several beaches (Mujeres, Papagayo) in walking distance too. Near to the hotel complex are two car rental companies. Good international breakfast (we paid extra on days we wanted). We could stay to use pool and shower facilities after our check-out during waiting for our leave. On request we got the highiest floor.
Fab room albeit bathroom a bit small in preferred club overlooking the Sea Legs pool. Breakfast in preferred club was very good with a special gluten free area which was great as I am Coeliac. Location is fabulous half way to Marina and Playa Blanca. Room kept spotlessly clean with clean towels daily. Staff were all really friendly and helpful especially Miranda in the Guest Relations Office.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is spread over a large area so generally doesn't feel too crowded. Adults only area was quiet. Room was spacious and clean. Location was quiet, approx 30 minute walk along the coast into Playa Blanca
The location of the hotel is great near the sea and adults only. Further the staff was very friendly and helpful by walking to your room to explain some things in the room. Rooms are spacious.
Great distribution of facilities and the pools, so even that the hotel was full, it's never crowded. You have a preception like every few rooms have a personal well heated pool.
