I grew up in this town (now a city) and much has changed.
I grew up in this town (now a city) and much has changed. A little too urbanized for my tastes: too much development along the Lake Ontario shoreline. That being said, I enjoyed my visit to nearby Fifty Point Conservation Area; great picnic facilities, walking trails and a beach.

Front desk kept saying maintenance person left for the night, no other room available to transfer me. The front desk attendance came to my room to try to fix the TV - I appreciate her effort. But the point is A fully occupied hotel with 2024-eclipse viewer guests from all over Canada and US, but no maintenance person to trouble shoot - this is incompetence. The front desk attendant in the morning, Helen, I think couldn’t care less about this.

We were thrilled with 1. the availability of a room on such short notice 2. close proximity to a few eateries 3. a fridge in the room (the hotel the night before was MORE expensive and had NO fridge) 4. the ease/proximity to the highway (QEW) 5. the staff - they were pleasant & professional; very good customer service!!

Beds were lumpy wouldn't surprise me if they were never changed. The whole floor stinks. I am shocked I stayed here 25 years ago same beds. rooms wallpaper. The toilet never stop running until 25 mins after you flush it. Just a terrible place for the money paid.MMichaelCanada
