I didn’t realise just how important Olympia was, the first Olympic Games happened here, the ancient state of Greece was inaugurated here, some of the greatest sculpture ever made reside here. All set amongst the most beautiful landscape.

Obviously, the main reason to visit Olympia is fror the ancient ruins of the Stadium and surrounding artifacts. It is a full day to see everything. We didn't engage the audio guide, as it was a bit complicated with a pre-set-up and download. But I recommend going into the museum to see the model of the area as it was in use to more fully enjoy and identify the ruins. Walking under the arched tunnel into the stadium made the hair on my arms stand up - such an energy.

Olympia was quite a surprise for me.

Olympia was quite a surprise for me. Considering its a small town it had all you could need. The ancient archeological site is a must see for anyone interested in history and the museum is great also and a must see as well. The town is cosy with everything walking distance and at night its something else with restaurants and bars and shops all lit up and vibrant plus wide tree lined streets that make it a pleasure to walk through. I can definitely recommend it and maybe a stop over on the way to the Ionian islands. Ohhh forgot to say that one of the nicest restaurants is Taverna Orestis where i had one of the nicest meals iv had in my 9 weeks in Greece i can highly recommend it.

One night stay is enough for visiting the Archeological Site...

One night stay is enough for visiting the Archeological Site and the Museums. The small the town has only two major streets, one with shady restaurants and the other with shops. You can fint not only the Olimpia museums but a small museum about Archimedes which is really worth to visit. It is quite a long time to get to Olimpia from the direction of Corinth, but you can choose the slower route across the hills which hides lovely villages.

Small village which is mainly famous for the museum.

Small village which is mainly famous for the museum. Besides this, there was not much of interest around. Therefore, if you are mainly interested in visiting the museum just plan for one night and be on your way.

10 minute drive from Olympia in breathtaking area. Property was beautiful with pool, restaurant and hotel. Pool area balcony was spectacular and all rooms had balconies too. Staff was attentive and Owner on premise, night stayed. Great feature was staying at the facility and eating at the Bacchus Tavern - delicious. Reservations are recommended. Very clean rooms and comfortable bed and furnishing with a clean and ample bathroom. Pool was refreshing. Breakfast was included in restaurant overlooking grounds.

Absolutely brilliant place to stay the owners were lovely, and the breakfast was the best I've had in Greece :) Owners were entirely unbothered that we were a same-sex couple as well staying in their wonderful accommodation which made us feel wholly welcomed. Unlike other comments, we didn't hear the traffic in our room nor the other guests. It was also a great location due to the short stroll down to the Olympia site, and we were provided with information of other attractions and places to eat.

Everything! The hotel is huge surrounded by beautiful gardens, a pool area, to relax after visiting Ancient Olympia. The buffet breakfast had a great variety to choose from and a beautiful garden area to enjoy it in. The rooms are a great size, The staff were so professional and friendly, and also had a lovely chat with Γεωργία who served us. Ample parking. I can't believe we got all that for the price we paid. Terrific value. So worth staying there!!!

Cheap room located in the town center of Olympia, near all the shops and restaurants, which is very convenient! Our room was spacious, clean and well-equipped. We also had access to a private balcony, which was perfect to relax or have a bite/drink. The check-in and check-out processes were quick and easy, which we really liked. There is no private parking, but it is easy to park nearby for free.

This hotel looks like a museum (not so surprising, given the incredible surroundings). We found it exceptionally clean, beautiful (there is art everywhere), quiet, and the staff were extremely professional and friendly - in particular Eleni, the restaurant manager who welcomed us like we were regular customers, both at dinner and at breakfast. We would come back any day.

We arrived in Olympia in the evening, and I booked two rooms in this beautiful place. It is right in the center of the town, opposite a large church. The hotel rooms are very clean, and the bathrooms have facilities for disabled people. I feel good!
