Kokkari is a lovely small town on the north coast of Samos.
Kokkari is a lovely small town on the north coast of Samos. A delight to walk around, good car parking and taxis available too. Many small shops selling everything from holiday tat to nice clothes and mementos. Large selection of restaurants to chose from. Along the main beach, many had outside seating areas as well as inside but could get windy. Port beach and promenade had many more shops and restaurants, again with outside seating. Spoilt for choice and prices very good. Average cost for 4 with drinks, starters and mains was 85 Euros.

A nice little town where you really feel that the locals are laid back and everything seems to be going a little slower - in a good way.
The area is nicely quiet and has a bunch of restaurants with great (and affordable) food. Bars and restaurants are open all day, starting with breakfast.
Kokkari offers little in terms of sightseeing, however, there are a lot of options for renting cars, motorcycles, atv and bicycles to go explore the close by nature and towns.
If you like a quiet place to stay, using it as a base-center for exploring the Island of Samos, Kokkari is recommended by me.

Lovely little town on Samos. Best place to be.
Lovely little town on Samos. Best place to be. There are so many places to eat and drink. Walk everywhere is easy. Cafe Manolis on the beach was super friendly and we went there each day to swim. Vagellis and the other places on the Platia were great for night life. Bira was great for dinner and drinks. Caves Cafe had great staff and good breakfast.

There are nice restaurants, sea, beach, view, hills, walking places, romantic sunset...
There aren't much buses, we used taxies to go around other villages or you can rent a car, bike... It is better to walk around Kokkari to take nice photos.
Important note: There was a terrible, rude, restaurant which I put the pictures below, please be careful and don't go there!

Kokkari village is pictoresque and very genuine.
Kokkari village is pictoresque and very genuine. There are a lot of taverns on the beach where you can eat typical greek food.
the beach is very long with small stones but sea water incredibly trasparent.
We enjoyed the peaceful life in the village, with a quiet kind of tourism.
we went on mid of september, may be in july or august it can be much more crowded but the hotels and studios are small, there are no big estates or resorts for mass tourism.
for us is simply the best place to spend holidays in Samos .
It is 20 minutes from the airport, the road are well asphalted .
This place was absolutely amazing. First of all, the staff should be mentioned, we felt really taken care off. Second off the pool is something out of a postcard. You got an amazing view out over the Mediterranean while you enjoy the awesome feeling of really clear mineral water while bathing.
Also, it’s just a 15 min walk (mostly sidewalk) to Kokkari where you can enjoy the exciting Greek sunset and have a great dinner.
If you want to enjoy beach life it’s just a 5 minute walk to nearest beach with a cozy beach restaurant.
My stay with Nikos was terrific. The studio was clean and well-stocked. The beach was only a few minutes' walk away. Just down the street was a cafe where I ate many delicious meals and spent time talking with the friendly people of Kokkari. A taxi driver showed me around and shared so much information about the island. I made some new friends that I cannot wait to see again.
I look forward to staying with Nikos on my next trip to Samos.
This was such a wonderful place to stay in Kokarri - clean, comfortable, small in the perfect location. Our bed was comfortable and while our room was small, there was adequate closet space and the layout ensured that we weren’t tripping over our luggage. We had breakfast included in our package but only partook of all the fresh goodies once - due to our late nights. We would definitely stay at the Kalidon Beach hotel again!
The property was a beautiful apartment, tastefully decorated, with incredible views of the little port of Kokkari and a small beach at the doorstep. Perfectly located in a quiet corner between two busier areas with direct access to restaurants and stores. The apartment has a beautiful terrace with views of the little bay. Our host Miss Efti took very good care of us and treated us to some local home made delicacies as well.
Kokkari is very nice village and close to beautiful beaches. Location of the hotel is very good, everything is just meters away when you left from the room. The pension is quite clean, balcony is open to sea with an amazing view, we slept with sounds of waves. Mini fridge was also working fine to keep stuffs cold. Wifi is also working fine. Giannis is very welcome person, thank you for quick response and early checkin.
The owners Mr. and Mrs. Prentas are very polite, speak a good english and give to guests all they need to spend a good and restful holydays in their apartments, that are well equiped and clean. The apartments are two minutes from restaurants and shops in Kokkari Village and you can walk to beaches in a few minutes. I am sure I will come back again to Katerina Apartments. Thank you again to Mr and Mrs Prentas.
The location is perfect . The rooms are super clean , towels , duvet covers were smelling cleanness and they were optical white . The owners were really polite and helpful . You can rent a car , but use also the public transport from Vathy -Samos City to Kokkari . It takes only 20 minutes and cost 1,60 € / person . You can find the time plan in facebook . And the bus stop is really very close to the pension .
Everything was perfect! Kokkari IS so lovely, the owner IS great, the studio gives you a view in paradise. There is a beach, 2minutes by walking, it IS THE paradise on earth. You have everything you need in the studio. Right in the centre with many restaurants, bars and everything ! I want to go back! Wonderful stay. The lady who cleans IS so lovely too. Thank you very much. Oooh and the bed are Amazing!
Everything was perfect, nice family run hotel right on the far right side of town. Beautiful location with beach right in front of the hotel.
Just a short walk to main area of restaurants, cafes and shops.
Owner is currently adding new orchards and gardens... Plus he has a windsurfing school on the other side of town that I highly recommend.
Nice light breakfast in the morning.
The location of the hotel is great, very close to everything. Only 10 meters from your balcony to the sea, 100 meters walk for cafes and restaurants if you tum right from the main room, 15 meters if you tum left for the beach and sun beds...Very clean rooms and very kind stuff...
Exceptional location, great view, very clean, beach is just in front of you.
i have been many places, but never seen such an amazing, caring and helpful host before.
Thank you Efthimia, for making our stay so special.
