Farming community that has been overtaken by city commuters...
Farming community that has been overtaken by city commuters from Bay Area. Houses going up nonstop and traffic (residents and passing thru) gets congested. Overall, most people were friendly and pleasant to interact with. Not much going on otherwise.

Friendly small town. Nice food options for family dining.
Friendly small town. Nice food options for family dining. Historic Downtown was walkable, safe and had some unique charm. There were a lot of classic car owners that cruised the main downtown street with several car clubs represented during the Saturday evening we visited. Many old cars were impressively restored. The atmosphere was friendly and the old cars were proudly displayed. Outdoor dining, food to go, as well as indoor dining was available. The local bakery downtown, shaved ice/ice cream shop, and comic book / sports card shop was a big hit with the family. The approximately 40- minute drive to Pinnacles National Park (east entrance) was scenic and enjoyable.

Place was disgusting.
Place was disgusting. Couldn't take a shower because it was too dirty. Rust came out at 1st in the sink and bugs came out of the shower. Garbage outside the Room and all around the property. Lamps next to bed could not be turned on because there wasn't a plug in. Stay anyplace else but this one if you have a chance.

Fruit stansds are everywhere, lots of nature, saw my first quails in the wild and a roadrunner! Close to Gilroy so garlic is everywhere, nice little antique shops there. Mission San Juan Bautista is 20 min away as well and is a must (My fav Mission, great vibe). Neat little shops there as well. Great place to relax and get back to way things used to be.

Hollister is an old town with alit of history.
Hollister is an old town with alit of history. There is not alot to do there unless you want to visit Jonnys Bar and Grill famous from the movie with Marlin Brando The Wild One. There were not alot of places to stay within walking distance. They have a farmers market every Wednesday which was good. They are trying ti bring back the down town area. If you want to go to Pinnacles National Park that is about 40 miles out of Hollister. For all you Garlic lovers Gilroy is just north 12 miles.
There are 14 rooms in an older 1 story ranch-style building, very solid with plaster walls. Average-sized room with the bath spread out across the back of the room, unlike your usual hotel room. Comfortable room with arm chair and desk. Large spread-out grounds with a restaurant (casual and attractive), various shops, gas station, and a large RV park. Rustic and welcoming. Not busy at all during our stay.
This Holiday Inn is fairly new, less than a year old. It was wonderful - clean, large room, comfortable bed. The shower head was superb and water pressure excellent. Breakfast was also good with many options. Would definitely choose this pace again. Location was better than we hoped for.
clean roooms, nice staff, quiet, seems to be a rather new hotel, good complementary breakfast. Good location for Monterey, Carmel and big Sur (closer accomodations absolutely over-prized). Nice Downtown of Hollister with plenty Restaurants and Bars only few Minutes drive away.
Friendly host who freely shared kitchen, patio, etc. with guest. Clean and comfortable. Convenient location in Hollister. Parking was readily available in front of the home.
