FAQs about hotels in Key West

Plenty of Limes and Good Times

Key West is a gem of an island in the Florida Keys, popular with pleasure seekers and history buffs alike. As the most southern destination in the continental United States, Key West has a fascinating history, dating back to its settlement by Spanish explorers in the 16th century.

Today, this little island off the coast of Florida attracts over a million cruise visitors a year through the Port of Key West. Visitors come to see Hemingway House, where Ernest Hemingway penned "A Farewell to Arms." Key West Cemetery provides a unique walk through the multicultural past of the city. There are also trolley rides through the historic district of Jackson Square.

There’s more than just history to Key West, however. Smathers Beach is a place to have fun in the sun, while Mallory Square provides the chance to shop and watch a magnificent sunset. The excellent bus system helps you get around the island without a car.

Key West International Airport is a mere 4 miles from Duval Street, the heart of downtown and a good place to stay for easily exploring the nearby sights. With accommodations ranging from resorts to B&Bs, Booking.com helps you get the best stay for the best price in Key West!

Hotel location great walking distance to all sights in old town. 2 full days is enough to see the history of the old town and enjoy the vibe walking around. an extra day would be for outings if you had more time out in the water. 2-3 days would be appropriate for this location unless relaxing for week on the beach.

There is a lot to see in Key West.

There is a lot to see in Key West. Since I can't walk very far, we found the hop-on hop-off trolley perfect. They stop at or close to all the major attraction so if you have difficulties walking this is for you! Just look for a hotel close to one of their stops. Parking is very expensive, $7 an hour.

The atmosphere is fun and light. Restaurants were loud. Parking horrible and $$$$. Next time would use trolley on and off. Meal prices are higher than at home. We rented golf cart still had problems finding parking.Food was good. Ate at Conch Republic, Sloppy Joes and Garbos. Enjoyed the Hemingway house tour, Jamie, tour guide was interesting. Also, Truman's White Tour, guide Greg M. , very interesting. Bring comfortable shoes, lots of sun screen and cash.

We stayed in the Old Town area and loved how walkable and lively it was. Duval Street in particular was wild and had a ton of cool stores and businesses to visit. There were tons of bars too, although we didn't visit any. We also walked down to the southernmost point marker and the small beach around the corner. I had no idea before our visit that Key West has tons of wild roosters and chickens, they were adorable! I would highly recommend staying in or near Old Town Key West for anyone planning a visit to the Keys.

I first went to Key West in 1980 on college spring break and fell in love with the place: the open-air bars and restaurants, the music, the overall island vibe. I have been back many times (>30). It's a very relaxing, easy-going place, and my wife and I and friends will continue to visit. My wife and I retired in 2023, and we decided to rent a house in Old Town for the month of February 2024 (at a price of ~$400/night). There are many options on places to stay, whether for a night or two, a week, monthly, etc. I must say it's getting more and more expensive, with per-night prices ranging from $400 to over $1000. Food is also getting more expensive (e.g. Bo's Fish Wagon, a small, divey lunch place with good food, is now charging $28 for a fish sandwich - and that doesn't include a side dish like fries or slaw). We noticed prices at other restaurants have also increased quite a bit. I hope we don't eventually get priced out in the future, but until that time comes we'll continue to enjoy Key West.

Arrived late and checked out the next morning, but room was good and clean. Fee for parking, which was not real convenient in its location. No breakfast included. In general, this hotel is overpriced, but it seems every hotel in Key West is, and include hidden taxes to make it even more. Receptionist granted one hour late checkout because of our late arrival, which was nice, but the receptionist at check-out was less than friendly.

Good stay about 20 minutes walking distance from the Duval St. in a traditional Key West villa (acutally two connected to each other). The room was rather small, according to the historic building, with a nice common patio in front. The breakfast was decent, we did not use the pool. Parking was easily possible in front of the hotel or close to it, according to capacities. All in all good value for money in Key West.

This hotel was awesome, with friendly helpful staff to an amazing pool and hot tub. The ambience was fun with the food truck eating area and poolside bar, and the food was excellent. The hotel shuttle runs to and from the hotel and downtown key west every half hour, so you never have to worry about parking. The hotel is a bit expensive, but so is every hotel in this area. We definitely enjoyed our stay here.

Well maintained common area with heated pool and area to eat the complimentary breakfast. Held our baggage on day of departure until we were ready to leave. Short walk to everything we like in Key West. Check out the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor which is a short walk from the hotel and in my opinion the best beach in Key West, if a cruise ship is in port they sail out right by the beach when they leave.

We are from South Florida, a 3 hour drive from Broward County. I did a ton of research before booking this hotel and I have to say, it is the absolute best option for me. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it. Very clean and modern, beautiful pool and beach and gulf view. Good vibes all around. No complaints whatsoever. Will definitely go back again. It was a wonderful Key West style hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is simple yet a wonderful addition to the stay. We opted for a queen room, but next time, I would get a king. Rooms were nice in size with a refrigerator. The bathroom was my only complaint it was so small. I'll definitely stay here again. It was a nice quiet area.

Exceptionally clean, quiet, and had incredibly comfortable beds. There were little comfy nooks with hammocks and rockers throughout the property which allowed for secluded down time. It is a great place to stay that is in walking distance to the Key West Express and Duval Street, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Key West.
