When you want south Padres water, but not the hustle and noise, Port Isabelle is the place to go! Lovely shops, food, and don’t miss the lighthouse. I wish I had stayed a week instead of only a few days. And definitely book a fishing trip! We took one as a surprise for my husband for surprising me. I may have had more fun than he did and we caught a ton of fish with Captain Aaron!

Other than being a former Tarpon...when my family and I visit my hometown, we like to stay local to afford us the comfort of being close to home. So without being too partial, this little town holds its own when invaded by tourists, and the like.

This small hotel was a perfect budget stay with hot shower, comfy king bed, simple kitchen, fridge, living and dining areas, and more than enough room to spread out. My wife and I will keep it in mind next time we are looking for a spot close enough to enjoy SPI beaches without the party culture along the strip. Bring your own kitchen ware if you plan to use the kitchen at all for anything other than brewing coffee and storing cold stuff in the fridge. The hotel is located in a great spot in Port Isabel within easy walking distance of various restaurants, shops and bars. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are very clean with super comfortable beds. We had stayed there well on South Padre Island and had to extend for a day.
