Okay, the only thing I can think of that is negative is that big, ugly paper mill in the middle of the city, and that state trooper that aggressively gives out tickets. I got one, and went to court. There was one guy in there that got stuck in a ditch when he pulled to the side of the road, he called the police because he was in a bad spot, and the guy came and gave him a reckless driving ticket. Really? Talk about a donkey.

If you enjoy history and outdoor activities then this is perfect place. Cycling, hiking and kayaking are all almost at your front door. Plenty of winter activities as well if that's your thing. Short drive to New River area and even more activities.

This was a stopping point for us after a day of looking at waterfalls - we ended with the Falling Springs waterfall in Covington. (This waterfall is seen from the road - a pull off with picnic tables and a short walk to the overlook- if you aren't picnicking, you will probably spend 15-30 minutes here) We enjoyed a nice dinner at Cucci's restaurant. I'm not sure of other attractions in the town.

Grew up in Covington. A lot of places have closed.

Grew up in Covington. A lot of places have closed. Not many restaurants to eat at except for fast food. The mountains are pretty and most of the people are friendly and helpful. It you can find a place to stay in the country away from Interstate 64 it's not a bad place to visit. Humpback Bridge is a pretty covered bridge to visit and picnic at.

breakfast does not exist. Offered a bag breakfast or a discount on dinner in the hotel restaurant. I choose the discount dinner. At 5:30 PM no one was in the restaurant except a man and son drinking tea. He told me that staff was in the back. The longer I waiting the more I considered what would be on my plate from a facility with staff hiding in the kitchen and no customers. They should quit trying to offer food and apply the discount to the room rate. Never again for me if I can find other options within 30 miles.

Best howl in town. Staff is so welcoming, make you feel at home, super nice. You can feel he is really taking care of his hotel. Room is rustic but really clean and comfy. At walking distance from Main Street and the restaurant.

We did not eat breakfast at the Hampton Inn. The location was close to the highway which was convenient however it also means more noise from traffic and truck air horns. I am a light sleeper but still slept fine.

Nothing at all really. The Price was cheap, but there was a reason. Only reason we stayed was to work on our car that had some issues. Near the highway. One story motel, so no stairs.

Great staff who went out of their way to ensure people in local marathon had food in the morning before the hotel's normal breakfast time.

The .otel was very nice. We stayed here because others in your group did. It was very expensive for the small town of Covington.
