Beautiful, historical town. Good amount of bistros/restaurants but some can be quite pricey. We used the supermarkets on some days to keep costs down. The food hall is a MUST.
The architecture is stunning along with the canal, museums and historical sights.
Highly advise getting a car to explore the towns within 30 minute radius.

It's a small city, but with a lively centre by the riversides, Many restaurants, things to see and do. The market was nice and we had a great tapas-lunch there.
The tourist train wasn't really worth it though, and if you don't speak french, you get earphones ... and on our row three of four plugins didn't work. They still refused to pay back money. That was cheap of them.
It's also close to the beach, and for 1.20 Euro you took the local bus aprox half and hour to reach the sandy beaches. In Saint Pierre la mer we really really recommend "Restaurant PAPA.PACO". Excellent food!
It's also very "centric", so going to towns like Carcassonne etc doesn't take long time, and trip over the day is no problem.

narbonne is an incredible city very well organized, with a lot of green and free parking. The city is quite full of bars and restaurants with some great places to visit ..but the value of the city is the city itself a nice place where to spend 2/3 day in complete relaxation you can walk all around the city without any problem and any car.

Off the tourist trail compared to some other nearby towns, but offers a great variety of activities. Water sports, museums, a wonderful food market.
The free shuttle bus is a big plus, running Monday through Saturday. The local buses charge a fixed rate of just €1.20.
Lots of restaurant and café options, plus a good choice of supermarkets. Do not miss the new museum of Roman history - Via Narbo. Extraordinary.

Narbonne is perhaps under-rated.
Narbonne is perhaps under-rated. It has great charm and history. The historic centre is compact and easy to stroll around.
For those like ourselves who are interested in the Roman history in and around Narbonne it's great: The Horreum underground granary is good. Via Narbo ( a little way out along the canal) is wonderful, although it has yet to get itself organised with a cafe,
Saturday evening along the canal and under he planes, with plenty of delightful relaxed cafes, was a great way to end our stay.
This is a very singular, perhaps a bit funky but charming place, a far cry from a typical hotel. The owners collection of art work, plants and brocante make it seem more like a home than a hotel. The breakfast is excellent. If you are coming by car, GPS may only get you so far. The "Impasse" is at a sharp angle off the Quai. Thwere is a small area of public parking with small spaces. You might be able to get a space inside ":the gate", but check ahead. If you are so inclined, there is a large indoor pool.
Darryl and Julie from Australia loved being picked up at the station by Genevieve and Jean. Their large, eclectic, spacious and colourful apartment with all that is required was in an old historical building adjacent to the Canal Robine, central to Narbonne. It was close to the supermarket and all other shopping. The outdoor terrace overlooks the majestic cathedral and if you want a great pizza, just across the bridge! PS, Jean dropped us back to the station when leaving Narbonne. Fabulous indeed!
The global style is out of the ordinary, super charming, and with a strong character in the south of France. The surroundings are so beautiful, you are always around wine grapes, I strongly recommend long walks, where you will find hidden gems to take breaks or enjoy the view. The spa is very cozy. The food was delicious at every meal, and the wine tasting is a must-do, as the sommeliers are very knowledgeable and inspiring. Each member of the staff has always a smile and is there to help you.
The location is great. You can walk to anywhere in the city and the bus stops are close by as well as the Halle market. Narbonne is a very interesting city. The hosts provide basic cooking ingredients: oil vinegar salt and pepper coffee tea and sugar and 2 bottles of water in the frig. Much appreciated as this is not always provided. Also I appreciated all the available electric sockets and lighting. Also don't be scared off by Google pics of the area. It is perfectly fine.
My friends and I stayed in Maison du Consul for a weekend and it was amazing.
The apartment is beautiful and comfortable, and the owner is nice and attentive. The beds are comfy, the bathroom and the kitchen are very well equipped and everything worked perfectly.
It is a centric location but there were no noises at all, not even during a weekend night. We had an amazing time. If I go back to Narbonne I will book again for sure.
We had a lovely room with a view of the cathedral. really nice staff who booked us a great restaurant for dinner. La Chambourlette. the market hall and open air Thursday market are fab. the new Foster + Partners archaeological museum was great. Narbonne - we’ll be back and we’ll stay at this hotel again.
Wonderful hotel in a great location a short walk from old town. Incredibly helpful staff, beautiful room - had the best night’s sleep of our vacation so far. Dinner was exceptional and breakfast was very good. Thank you for a lovely stay in Narbonne!
Exceptional setting, architecture, zen. Food is better quality food than a five star hotel. But the real magic comes from the owner hosts, the manager Elody…. and the special dinners by chef Victor. Do NOT miss them! Best part of our travels.
THE AIR CONDITIONING WORKED!!
11 different properties I stayed at during a trip around Europe promoted having a/c, but this one and only 3 others actually turned it on and operational. I’m so tired of hotels being stingy with their a/c.
Right in the center of Narbonne, free parking in the garage was very convenient.
It is a nice hotel with new, clean and quiet rooms, the staff was nice and explained us everthing about the historic building.
I would stay here again!
The hotel is cosy, clean and welcoming, the staff is very nice and helpful, the breakfast is good quality and large choice. The hotel is very close to the A9 highway, very practical to sleep over when travelling.
It is an OK place to stop and spend the night on the way from Spain to France. The parking is safe so you can leave your car without any problems next to the hotel.
I would recommend it just for a night.
Located 100m from the Canal and Les Halles. We were pleased with our greeting and the friendly staff. Restaurants and attractions are a short walk away. Recommend this hotel and Narbonne.
I really enjoyed myself at Hotel Le Mosaique. It's such a beautiful location. I really appreciated the thoughtful concierge and the excellent restaurant. I hope to return.
