While Ortesie is slightly larger town, Selva is higher elevation and more quaint alpine village, and better lift access. Busses are free, frequent, and electronic displays accurately show next bus, so visiting Ortesie for dinner or to explore or ski is easy. While we liked Ortesie, I would stay in Selva de Gardena the next time.

Information on the website about the village amenity was...
Information on the website about the village amenity was very poor. I would have liked more information about the public transport options, timetables etc. Information about the taxi to the horses was out of date and it cost a lot more than it said on the website. The lack of a bus link to other villages was a real drawback for me. And the cost of taxis was exorbitant.
Also information about the grocery shops. The shops were very small and expensive.
Although our accommodation was excellent I wouldn’t recommend this area again.

A perfect base to go on hikes.
A perfect base to go on hikes. There are so many hiking trails to choose from and plenty cable cars that will take you to the start of the trails. Very lively without being overly crowded with many restaurants, bars and shops so it's convenient. Great mobility, the public transport is well connected so we don't have to use the cars all the time.

This place is perfect. It is super clean and well maintained. The breakfast is good. And the family which owns it is just the nicest. We had a very late check in (despite the fact that the usual check in hours are only till 10pm) and the owner personally met us in front of the hotel and helped to carry the suit case to the 3rd flor. Every one else who we interacted with were super nice and helpful, very pleasant people. Location is also hard to beat - ski lifts, hikes, restaurants - everything is close by.
Very cosy hotel! Well equipped room (we had a room for a family of four), spacious and very comfortable bathroom with heated floor and 2 sinks. Delicious breakfast with local flavours. Very hospitable and attentive owner! Located in the very Center of Selva di Val Gardena - 2 minutes from Christmas market and Spar supermarket. Couple minutes walk from Chempinoi skiing hub and 10-12 minutes drive from Plan de Gralba and Ortisei by car. Spacious parking on the territory of the hotel. We loved it.
We visited here for two nights as part of a driving tour of Italy, the hotel was a such an amazing find. The room was first rate with great views of the surrounding area, breakfast was the best of our trip with a clear attention to detail. The staff were attentive and exceedingly helpful especially with the afternoon tea serving.
Secure car parking near by was an added bonus.
If you are visiting the Dolomites then definitely consider this hotel, it won't disappoint.
Everything was great. It was a fabulous location close to a busstop. It has an amazing view of mountains and a beautiful garden to enjoy just outside our room. The hotel is close to a great supermarket so we did eat in our unit. Our unit had a great little kitchen with plenty of cooking stuff & a great little induction stove top. The staff were lovely and we got an early check in. The area is so beautiful. We could open our back door into the garden, so pretty.
One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was the "gourmet experience" and the food was excellent with one exception (see below). Nice covered balcony with great view. Stylish, clean well appointed room. Fabulous large ensuite spa bath. Right on the piste and a warm clean ski room with automatic doors! The spa was absolutely lovely with some very creative ideas (you must go in the cellar steam room - be prepared to jump out of your skin)!
The best hotel we stayed in the Dolomites. We closed 3 days and decided to stay another night because our experience was good. The rooms are clean, new and beautiful, delicious breakfast. But the best thing is the owner of the hotel. who really got into our hearts, every morning he helped us plan a hike that suits us and thanks to him we had 4 amazing days there! highly recommend!
Well maintained hotel business with care and hard work by the lovely family. Comfortable and clean room with upgraded interior and Mountain View balcony. Electrical charger available. Breakfast included with customized protein with choice. Located in a less crowded walkable town in the valley with river and mountain walks. Central to attractions towards west or east of Dolomites.
The hotel is beautiful, all the facilities are excellent. Breakfast is superb, the staff is very friendly and nice, always smiling and welcoming, from waiters to reception officers. The location is perfect, very close to the slopes and ski lifts.
The hotel has two in-house restaurants, Luis Eatery and Meat. The second (meat) is very good.
Set in a stunning location overlooking the dolomites and the sounds of the rushing creek nearby, yet only a couple of mins from the village center, the hotel has perfect location. They also have a wonderful breakfast spread!
The owners of the hotel go out of their way to help you with questions and help.
really liked this hotel. had preivously skied in the arlberg and stayed at a wonderful hotel there twice so was nervous going into it but botique hotel nives surpassed expectations. really liked it and the staff was lovely, breakfast plentiful, and common spaces of the hotel were clean and comfortable.
Staff: service from the guy behind the bar, bernadette, cleaning ladies, warm goodbye
help with finding nice restaurants
printing skipass in the hotel
heated room to warm the boots
location near the lift nives
Breakfast had both hot and cold choices. My room had a full size tub, a balcony, and a mountain view. The hotel had a big ski room.
The hotel was near the cable car, as well as the town center.
Wonderful hotel, recently renovated, clean, lovely staff with great service, breakfast is perfect for a day of skiing, and a fantastic restaurant. We definitely recommend this hotel.
Place of the hotel is awesome.
Personal doing really great job, still asking, if something needed, always smiling. I'm very satysfied and I will recommend hotel to my friends.
Friendly owners, good breakfast. To reach the nearest ski lift you walk about 50 m. If there is enough snow, you can literally ski back to the front door of the hotel.
