It's difficult to put into words the amazing time we had at Plotsklaps. The beautiful property is in a perfect location in the Tokai neighborhood of Cape Town, equidistant between downtown and all the attractions around False Bay and Cape Point. It sits beneath a picturesque mountain near many great dining and shopping places as well as the Constantia vineyards and Kirstenbosch botanical garden. Guests stay in a two-story guest cottage next to Dave and Rachael's house, both of which are architectural wonders with their high thatched rooves supported by exposed log beams. Our two kids (aged 9 and 11) slept soundly in the bunkbeds in the downstairs room, with their own bathroom. The master bed upstairs was very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. There's a full kitchen (with washer and dryer), dining room, office area, and living room with hundreds of TV channels and DVDs of classic movies. We really appreciated the welcome items of coffee, home-grown eggs, bread, milk, and delicious jams and rusks that Rachael makes herself. It was particularly nice to be able to wash our clothes after a week on safari. The property has a spacious pool and poolside pavilion with a barbecue pit and a large yard where the kids could play soccer and the chickens and cats roamed free. Dave's generator was much appreciated during "load-shedding," i.e., set periods each day when the government-run electric company turns off everyone's electricity because the power plants can't handle the overall demand. Dave and Rachael were fantastic hosts, attending to our every need and providing great recommendations about local activities and dining. They were extremely communicative, always happy to chat about where to go, how to get there, and what to do while there.

The location of the hotel is wonderful, a nice and quiet area and very safe, staff was friendly however a little improvement would have been good service in the restaurant .
Beautiful area - perfect for outdoor sports running,...
Beautiful area - perfect for outdoor sports running, cycling, trail running
Some super restaurants - Reds & Voyo for a great breakfast - Hussar
for a great steak. Very close to fabulous wine farms - Constantia Glen was super. Very easy to get around - not far from the highway.
Spacious lounge with nice comfy couches, kettle, microwave, fridge and TV. Clean and neat, with lots of windows, although the cold weather didn't present them at the best. Serviced and great to have the plates cleaned and sorted out, and the bed neatly made when one comes back from work - but totally unobtrusive. Nice pillows. One of the quietest stays I have every had, including my own home. Sense of privacy, and great area if you want to go for walking or scenic drives. Easy access to village shops and places like coffee shops.
Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. The house has really every equipment you might need. We felt absolutely comfortable there and our kids loved the garden and the ability to roam outside.
Rachael and David were great hosts. Very helpful and friendly. David even took us out on False Bay with his boat, so we were able to experience Cape Point on the water as well. He let our son use his fishing equipment and my brother was even able to take a dive out at Cape Point.
Thanks a lot again for a great week in Tokai!!
In our trip we was in 7 hotels in South Africa with rating above of 9 and this is the best. If other hotels have 9 this should be evaluated on 20/10
Everything was great: breakfast (tastes with great view and cozy kitchen) , location (close to beach and city), room, view from room, all the plase is very clean. Owner of property great, helpful and know a lot abou SA.
I strongly recommend this place to stay, it will be excellent experience which add extra impression of SA. It is not simple hotel, it is attraction
The guest house was situated in a beautiful area with great views, shopping, dining etc. Loved that there was a pool and beautiful gardens that one can relax in. Staff were very accommodating and helpful when I needed to address one issue I had. They made every effort to make our stay comfortable. The access to come and go whenever we needed to was also helpful. I would definitely stay there again in the future. Thank you Jade, Caroline and the staff of Rustic Manor Guest house.
The cottages are situated in a quiet cul-de-sac thus no traffic noise or polution. Very well situated for Tokai, Fish Hoek, etc. Close to highway thus access to Cape Town is very easy Frances was very helphul and went out of her way to assist our group - 8 men on a golf tour
Tranquil is centrally located with easy access to Tokai forest and the beach as well as shops and restaurants. It is situated in a very quiet suburb and we had a very restful stay. Our host, Wayne, was exceptional and made sure we were comfortable at all times.
Space and views. From the booking.com description we were concerned there was only one shower. Well, there were actually three showers (one in guest toilet) and one bath! The views were magnificent and the balcony had both a sitting and dining area.
This was a repeat stay and it was just as good as our 1st stay. The accommodation is immaculate and the hosts are friendly, a bonus was they upgraded our room. The location is perfect and in a quiet area, although close to Blue Route Mall and the M3.
Range and accessibility of facilities such as heated pool and sauna in a tranquil landscape were lovely. The rooms are very spacious, and it's great not to be boxed into tiny chalets.
The location is beautiful, right in a quiet area of Tokai but close to the mountains and wine farms. The garden is large and full of beautiful trees and plants.
The location is great and safe. Properties are well kept and the host is fantastic. Check in and check out were smooth, generally the area is nice and quiet .
The hotel has great potential and fantastic views. The room was clean and the bed comfy. Air conditioning was even available. Staff were extremely friendly.
