I loved everything about my stay at Overvoll Farm! From the warm welcome, the delicious dinner (consisting of homemade deer stew), the stimulating conversation with fellow guests, the heated bathroom floors & water pressure in the shower, the cloud like mattress & pillows dressed in soft linen, to the unbelievable breakfast spread with freshly prepared baked goods, eggs of all variety, local jams, cheese, granola, porridge, juice & coffee! Meeting Hege Kristin & her family and sharing a meal with them was a definite highlight of my stay.
They also maintain & operate a 9-hole golf course!

As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships.
The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway.
Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!).
A day trip to Alesund is also recommended!

Geiranger is one of the most attractive destinations in the world , the nature itself is a reward and what i suggest is that the concerned authorities can add more services here and there to meet the needs and the expectations of all tourists from all over the world , like more supermarkets , more shopping options etc

Nice little village but very touristy when cruise liners are in. Limited choice of restaurants. Lots of tourist goods shops, boat trips available along with kayaking etc. A nice place to chill for a couple of days.

The cabin was well equipped with microwave, oven and kettle. The place is clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The space was just nice, compact but not too small. There was also laundry in the bathroom and dryer close by. This was a real plus as I was travelling around Norway for over 25 days.
The location was 5 mins from town and the road to and from town was very easy. Great location with beach view

So many natural beauty places to see around here, and hikes to do. I would recommend hiring a boat for fjord exploration at your own pace. Taking a short drive to the Dalsnibba viewpoint is a must, as well as to any of the other close-by viewpoints. Walk the steps next to the powerful display of water flowing into the fjord. Take a canoe/kayak and see the many waterfalls from up close.
This was our most expensive hotel in norway, and it was definately worth it.
We took 2 double rooms with views to the fjord, and waking up to this view every morning was amazing.
Everything in this hotel is excellent - the rooms, the breakfast, the staff, the washer&dryer on the 5th floor (didn't find those in any other hotel on this trip), the coffee maker in the room.
Proximity to the village is great (minutes away by car), and yet distant enough from the masses.
Highly recommend this hotel!
This place was amazing! The views of the fjord were just breathtaking. You have easy access to the waterfall trail, and in fact, the waterfall seems to just go right in front of the hotel. The outdoor pool was warm and almost like a large hot tub; it was delightful to start out day with a swim. The garden surrounding the pool area was equally lovely. The beds were super comfy, showers hot, and the waterfalls provided excellent white noise. Breakfast was delicious and extensive.
Amazing view of Geiranger fjord. We hired a motorboat at reception for 2 hours which was perfect to tour the fjord. The staff on site were amazing. This was the best customer service we had in Norway. September was a great month to visit. It rained one day which made the waterfalls more impressive. The next morning, we woke up to blue sky and snow on the top of the mountains. The cabin was absolutely spotless and the bathroom beautiful, equipped with a rain shower.
The first thing everyone will notice is the view is first class. It is perhaps 100 meters from the over look everyone stops at to view Geiranger with the fjord behind it. We walked to the overlook and decided our room view was better. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great.
It is a short drive into the town were there are more dining options and lots of activities. There are also great hiking options that can start right from the hotel.
The hotel Shuttle from Geiranger to the hotel was a PORSCHE!!! We knew from that second that it would be a wonderful stay. It only got better! LOVED the staff, the room, the view, and especially the coffee maker!
The beef carpaccio in the restaurant was the absolute best we've ever tasted. My wife actually shed tears. Coffee stations are in every corner of the hotel. The Porsche was rentable! The little bar was exceptional.
We didn’t have the highest expectations for this hotel when we booked. We took it because it looked ok based on the prices of the other hotels and the reviews it had. The hotel lays down at the docks and the township of Geiranger. The hotels are quite old but it only shows on the bathroom and the sound proofing. Excellent view from the room we had and that was double or twin room with a fjord view. The breakfast was good.
We had a wonderful weekend in Westeras Gard! With a view overlooking. We stayed in a small wooden house for two people. It was warm and cozy at night. Hospitable and polite staff is always helpful. They fed us a hot dinner just before closing time. Also Westeras Gard has one of the best restaurants in Geiranger, where we eat. Delicious farm food. Highly recommend this place and thank you for your state and care.
Great location on the Geiranger Fjord, but a few km from the village (close enough and far enough!)
The cabin is convenient and functional, with a little porch which you can sit on and soak in the view of the fjord. Can rent a motorboat or a kayak right from the campground office.
adorable moss roofed hut in an epic surrounding landscape. perfect place to stay on trip to Geiranger- very close to fjord but escape the cruise ship bustle! one of our favorite places we stayed on our Norway road trip- would recommend to anyone.
Amazing place! The house is beautiful (you have everything you need) and the view from the house is absolutely breathtaking. Recommend 10/10. No other hotel compares to it - best place to stay if you're visiting the Geiranger fjords.
One of the most incredible views of our Norway trip. Coffee each morning on the balcony with that view was an experience in itself. Bunk beds comfortable, decent partial kitchen. Great shower pressure. 5 min drive to Geirangerfjord.
This place is a cozy and charming little hut sitting high above Geiranger. It is well equipped for basic needs. The location is perfect, several hiking trails start at the huts and the view from the balcony/porch is wonderful.
The views from this hotel are spectacular if you have a fjord side room or while eating in dining room. The hotel has changed hands since we stayed there last. Seems to have deteriorated the overall experience at the hotel.
The larger cottage is quite spacious and has all of the amenities listed. The view over Geiranger is amazing and it was a great place to stay overnight. Cleaning up the apartment isn‘t a problem at all.
The view from the hotel is fantastic. Breakfast is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location has a good distance to the center and close to hiking trails for super active visitors.
We got the cabin no 1. The view from there was breathtaking to Geiranger town and fjord. Cca. 30m(!) from the cabin there is a really big and fantastic waterfall.
A great location with stunning views of Geiranger fjord. The room was very spacious and well equipped. The swimming pools and sauna are fantastic additions.
