Great views. Great trip. Only disappointment is the blue "lake" in Nakadake Crater. All the pictures show the "lake" while to my understanding it was destroyed during the 2016 earthquake. It was what drawn my attention to this location to begin with, so it was disappointing not seeing it. Unfortunately access to the crater is still prohibited due to the risk of toxic gases, but the surrounding area is impressive. For those keen on a hard nature walk you can walk up the steep trail of the neighbouring peak and look down into the crater from there. Allow a good half a day or more to do this!

We did enjoy our room, and the private baths were amazing way to relax in the rain. We didn't have a car and there were not a lot of food options walkable from the inn. We also didn't realized to book the dinner well in advance. Would recommend making reservations for food in advance of your visit (there is a 7/11 which is a walking distance down the road). The breakfast was ample and delicious! Would stay again.

They were so friendly and nice, helped us to get the taxi and being extremely helpful for everything. We are so touched by the services. The room and everything were nice. There was a private Onsen you can use for free once during the stay. The breakfast was good too with Aso milk. We really enjoyed the stay and will definitely recommend this!

The place is much bigger and comfier than the other hotels we stayed during this trip. Our stay, even though short, was a very pleasant one. There is not restaurant in the hotel, however they do have a nice dining area with microwave oven where you can eat whatever you buy from Lawson just across the road :)
