Monte Carlo has made a world-famous name for itself in the worlds of sport and business, despite its small size. It is the largest district of the Principality of Monaco, covering a narrow strip of land at the foot of the Maritime Alps. For many, Monte Carlo is Monaco, and in reality it’s difficult to tell where one district ends and another begins.
What is clear is the wealth of its residents, which is no surprise given it’s a tax haven. Exclusive yachts line the marinas, and you’re almost as likely to see a Formula One driver leaving their house as you are to see them hurtling past during the F1 Monaco Grand Prix.
However, it’s the Monte Carlo Casino that it is the clear symbol of status. Its landscaped gardens add to a feeling of grandeur worthy of the European Poker Tour Final and the 2 James Bond films set here. Next door is the opulent Salle Garnier Opéra, built for ancestors of the present-day royal family, who reside in the Prince’s Palace by the historic Monaco-Ville district.
Whether you’re staying for the Monte Carlo Rally, an exhibition at Grimaldi Forum or simply to lounge on Larvotto beach, Booking.com has accommodation options ranging from cheap apartments to luxury hotels, some with helicopter transfers from Monaco Heliport.

Beautiful city - gorgeous architecture and history imbued into the buildings and locations. Buses run throughout the city but the city in general is very walkable (lots of hills and stairs though in some places!). Lots of shopping if high-end and luxury goods are your thing.
The Oceanographic Museum and the car collection were highlights and a great activity to do for all ages. You can get a combined ticket deal for both.

If you are in reasonably good shape I recommend walking around Monte Carlo as it is much easier to stop take in the sights and take pictures. You also get a better feel of the city. The train is also convenient for getting to airport. Or visiting Cannes or Italy. Seems odd to use frugal and Monaco in the same sentence but if on a budget check out the local supermarkets instead of restaurants. They have fresh fruit, salad, bakery items as well as drinks and snacks. Bring it back to your hotel sit in your terrace with a bottle of wine and enjoy the view of the city.

It was very beautiful. I enjoyed the palace and the gardens.
It was very beautiful. I enjoyed the palace and the gardens. The city is very clean and appears to have pride in appearance. I felt very safe and there was a large presence of police everywhere.
I was there during the heatwave so didn’t see as much as I would have liked. Taxis were hard to find and the place has a lot of steps as it is all located on a hill. Some areas had lifts and escalators.
The train station looked like an airport and was very clean but there was no one to offer help with directions.

Monte Carlo is the playground for the rich.
Monte Carlo is the playground for the rich. It is a lovely vibrant city with lots to offer. Good local food in good quality restaurants with friendly staff. The casino and the square is something else to see and witness the comings and goings of the patrons. The walking tour of the Grand Prix circuit was excellent and a knowledgeable guide. Would recommend this and of course for the shopping experiences.

This is a typical 2* hotel with 2 squidgy bottles of shampoo/body wash (all-in-one) and a body lotion screwed to the wall. A little bit of mold in the corners of the shower, the soap, make up pads kit are not replaced - you get them upon arrival and that's it. Breakfast is not particularly great, hot food is not laid out, the choice of cold food is very limited. I had to order eggs - they do only scrambled for breakfast - and received cold mush with some water at the bottom. I suppose they scramble eggs with water and do it the day before to anticipate the demand.

The aquarium/ oceanographic museum and palace are worth seeing. Get the combined 25E ticket to see both. The casino visit was disappointing- they want 18E just to walk through it. You do get 10E credit to use at the bar or for gambling if you go at night. Would recommend seeing Monaco on a day trip and not spend the money to stay there. If you do stay, Cafe Millano is a great reasonable restaurant
Everything about this property is exceptional. The moment we arrived we were greeted by the most professional staff. The accommodations were spotless, and our suite was both spacious and comfortable. The location is unmatched - walking distance to all of Monaco’s finest restaurants and attractions, with the benefit of having an incredible view.
A very good location near the food and transport hub of the Place d'Armes. The hotel is clean and without frills, good for a short stay. There is no lift and if other guest are in the slightest noisy in the corridors or their rooms your rest will be interrupted. Our bathroom was small but adequate. One of the few affordable hotels in Monaco.
location is superb, walking distance to Casino, Hotel De Paris, shops and restaurants, and Buddha Bar few steps away. loved the roof top pool, but thought the crew was a bit snooty and if you don’t keep ordering bottles then they want you out of there. if you not much of a drinker they want you out
:( and we were staying in the hotel !!
Everything, I loved everything. I've stayed many times in Monaco in various hotels and this was by far the best experience. Sure, it's different to a hotel and requires some minor compromises, but they are Well worth It!
Location is excellent, as is the fact that they have a beautiful private beach. Well-kitted out Gym and exercise area.
Very handy to have nice restaurants and cafes on the beach area beside the hotel.
Excellent hotel, excellent staff that made us feel more than welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Central location, within walking distance to most of Monaco's sights.
Dave is an awesome host! He has his way of doing things, but if you cooperate it will be great! Amazing value for Monaco. Cheap parking is plentiful right next door.
