Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, and centers around the beautiful Danube River. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy Most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with a UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself has a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Across the street, St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s specialty is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-colored buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower, whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.

My first trip to Bratislava took place in 2018 and I must say, the progress they've done for these 6 years is stunning! The city became cleaner, more infrastructure, people seemed to be more friendly! Awesame time spent in this beautiful city!

Absolutely beautiful city!
Absolutely beautiful city! full of beautiful places to eat, drink and be merry. We loved everything there! Totally recommend! Extremely cheap compared to what we are used to as well! An excellent destination that proves that you can have a whale of a time even if you are on a tight budget! very easy to get around, one of the most walkable cities we've ever been to!
Hidden gem: cafe / bar "U centra" just below the Castle.
Extra tip: hop on the Flixbus to visit Vienna for a day for 5euros ticket!

It's not as beautiful as other European cities.
It's not as beautiful as other European cities. The city center is very small and has nothing special. The castle is fine but not worth the visit. The whole city has this Soviet communist vibe that I don't like. If you want to go, one day for your visit is more than enough, I wouldn't spend more than that, go somewhere else. If you are looking for a cheap place to party, this is the right place. The party is good, the beer and the food are good as well.

It was our first time in Slovakia and we absolutely loved it. We started there before taking the train to Austria, as the connections to the country were amazing.
I would 100% recommend taking the trip out to Hrad Devín from the centre, it's super easy to get to (one bus that is very regular) and if you're ice hockey fanatics like us, you definitely need to get down to the Ondrej Nepela Arena for a HC Slovan Bratislava game. Amazing atmosphere for both home and away fans, cheap beer and a very good game!

Many buildings in Bratislava's Old Town stand out with unique architecture. The narrow streets and tall structures give the Old Town a special charm. Most importantly, I could easily stroll around and admire the beautiful buildings that boast interesting historical details. I would definitely recommend visiting Bratislava's Old Town for those who want to experience not only a delicious food culture but also enjoy impressive architecture.

Wonderful city to explore, from what I gathered speaking to others that stayed at the same hostel as I did, many only spend a couple of days max in the city, but I think it has a lot more too offer you. Explore at your own pace, lots to discover.
We loved the free parking and the location of the apartment. The apartment is very modern, tech-savvy, and clean. We only stayed one night, but the staff was great at checking us in/out. Instructions are clear on how to get the apartment keys, park in the garage, and self-checkout. It has a good Wi-Fi signal, which we always appreciate.
It's right in the old town - a 5-minute walk to the castle and the old town historie center. So, if you need a place to stay to visit Bratislava, I highly recommend City Castle Apartments.
Huge room with a large double bed, super clean & very comfortable.
Bathroom with a decent shower, very clean.
24 hour reception - very helpful staff
Classified as a 'business hotel', so check-in was efficient, good services & nothing to really complain about.
Ok location in relation to the centre of Bratislava. The old town is a circa 10 mins cab journey from the hotel & costs around 8 or 9 euros. Worth doing as I don't think there was much locally to see/do/places to eat.
Airport 10 mins away also.
I spent two days in Bratislava and have decided to stay in Loft Hotel. It was a very good decision because this hotel has exceeded my expectations. The room was really spacious and stylish. Free minibar was really nice compliment. Also, it's essential to mention the breakfast - very good choice of dishes and drinks. The Hotel is placed at the center between the main station and old down. This fact makes my staying better as well because it was easy to go to Bratislavskiy Grad, old town etc.
Excellent hotel, very friendly staff, with clean and comfortabble room, we had everything we needed. The breakfast was exceptional! Location more than good - in a quiet place, just 7 minutes on foot to the old town and at a 5 min distance to Bratislava castle. Plus, there is a public transportation stop right in front of the hotel.
I highly recommend Falkensteiner Hotel for both short and long stay, and I will definately choose it again for my next visit to beatuful Bratislava.
Beautiful hotel in the old town of Bratislava. Calm yet central street. Very friendly staff, the check in and checkout were fast and clear.
A room might be slightly outdated (like old telephone and slight ware out in bathroom) but it gives a charm vibe, beautiful decor. The bad and pillows were very comfortable. Nice lighting in the bathroom.
There is enough variety for breakfast, including champagne. The room was always well cleaned.
We supposed to stay at the description hotel address (in the main street of Bratislava Old Town) but other guests end up messing the apartment. Property hosts let us know right after and got us another place which was fabulous - a huge apartment, newly decorated with living room, big kitchen and 3 spacious rooms - very modern. There nothing to add in this place, so beautiful and complete.
Probably the best part of the hotel was the place - it is situated in the heart of Bratislava's old town. For those travelling by car - the underground garage is about 5 minutes away by foot, you can also park on the street, so parking is not the issue. The hotel room is pretty spacious, the staff is friendly, the reception works 24 hrs per day, so check in/out is also not a problem.
it’s only 1 minute walk to the old town square. the hotel is in small pedestrian side street from the Main Street where a lot of restaurants are located and charming shops. just a minute walk out the corner but away from noise. my room is charming and quite spacious. very comfortable. it has restaurant downstairs by the lobby and the food is awesome! very popular restaurant.
Great location (in the "heart" of city centre / Old Town)
Spacey living room
Large couch
Smart TV (could be bigger though)
2 proper private bedrooms
1 bedroom in a living room
2 bathrooms (1 downstairs, one upstairs)
Pretty quiet for an apartment in city centre
Hotel Brix is an outstanding accommodation with tastfully and luxury designed rooms. The room contains e verything one needs for a comfort of a stay in Bratislava. The location is great as it is close to city centre while the location is quiet to sleep.
I would give it 5 stars. Of the 7 or 8 hotels we stayed at in Europe, Devin was the best. The breakfast was exceptional as was the staff. It is located right on the Danube a short walk to the old town. Bratislava is a hidden gem, clean and vibrant.
The apartment is near to the Old Town square and tram station so it’s very convenient. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful to accommodate my luggage deposit for a while. It’s near good restaurants and shops so it adds pros for the location.
The room was clean, spacious, and warm! The staff welcomed us friendly at the reception.
Great location to the Old Town, everything was within walking distance!
It is a great hotel for someone coming to Bratislava! Ďakujem!
The hotel was amazing. The room was huge and cozy. Clean and well equipped. The stuff was friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, right in the heart of the old town. Would 100% recommend.
Quiet and clean place, the new wing is well furnished and equiped, free parking garage is an extra bonus. We always stay in this hotel when in Bratislava, despite it isn’t so close to old town.
The hotel has a perfect location - right in the old town of Bratislava. The rooms were spacious and clean. I expected a little bit more choice for breakfast but it was ok.
Great hotel, clean, modern and cozy room. Loved the design. Staff are really friendly. Close enough to city centre and very easy to reach from airport by bus.
Location was okay about 10 min walk to old town and there was parking below the hotel. Nice gym with roof terrace. Night manager was the loveliest person.
