I was there for a concert event held at the castle, rather than a holiday destination. However, it is an interesting blend of the preserved historic section and a modern section, both totally walkable. It is also useful as a base for exploring Mount Amiata. For food I chose Osteria Bastarda Rossa, which I expected to be the only proper restaurant. It is in the historic part with outdoor terrace and view. The food is simple, well cooked, and made with good local ingredients. You could easily walk past it without noticing, so locate it on Google Maps.

We were in Arcidosso to visit Merigar.
We were in Arcidosso to visit Merigar. Beautiful Buddhist Centre. Its main building is called the Temple of Great Contemplation that has great remarkable architecture and Tibetan symbolisms decorated in and outside the structure. A must-see if you drive past or are visiting Arcidosso. The place was also inaugurated by the Dalai Lama. In the city center also has a museum, MACO Museo di Arte e Cultura Orientale that captures the Tibetan history and culture. Very worth visiting. Entrance fee is 3 Euro. Visited a restaurant, La Brusta, that was recommended by locals. It serves cheap and good pizza. Place is always fully packed. Be prepared to wait or go early for a place to sit.

The location is perfect for daytrips in the southern part of Tuscany and also for close by walks in the nature. It'a very comfortable and relaxing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and both my little dog and I have just met the sweetest staff. Apartments are roomy and comfortable, with a large kitchen and everything you need, even for a long stay. The owner Vincenzo is very helpful and nice, fully available for you during your stay. The facility features a large common terrace with a BBQ and a swimming pool nearby. Should be interesting during the summer!

Both can be reached quite easily even with leasurely walks through the countryside. The kitchen has been fully kitted out and has everything one needs for a short break. The double bed was very comfortable, its mattress being very firm. The Wi-Fi provided was OK. Not very fast, but perfectly functional, with no glitches.
