La Mensa Ponderaria, hotel in Tivoli

Offering free WiFi and a furnished terrace, La Mensa Ponderaria is located in the historical center of Tivoli. Villa d'Este is just 984 feet away. Air-conditioning is featured at this property.

The building is wonderful. From the medieval period, it has thick walls and beautifully plastered ceilings. I loved coming 'home' after my walks to the little piazza, opening the door and climbing the atmospheric stairs inside. Location is also great. Right in the historic centre of Tivoli opposite the cathedral. Train station and busses to Villa Adriana are within easy walking distance.

Great access to town and countryside.

Great access to town and countryside. Tivoli has lots of character and amazing views, plenty of places to eat and shop, and to immerse yourself in true Italian culture. I'd recommend the Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana (Hadrian's Villa), both of which can be done in one day, although allow more time for the latter, and bring a packed lunch as there are no catering facilities.

Tivoli is a great town outside of Rome. If you are looking for old character, charm, and beautiful gardens, you have found your spot. Food was great at all locations. I would recommend spending a lot of time Villa di Este.

The park of Villa Gregoriana has stunning views of the waterfalls and is a must natural attraction when visiting Tivoli. Villa D'Este is a magnificent example of the Italia Villas of the Renaissance, with its beautiful gardens and many fountains. These two locations and the overall historical city area are easily reachable all within walking distance. The historic downtown also offer many eating alternatives. Villa Adriana is one of the most majestic archeological sites of the Roman Empire, truly impressive in its scale and content. Plan for a three nights stay in order to have two full days to visit the city.

Wonderful area to explore and use as a base to visit Rome.

Wonderful area to explore and use as a base to visit Rome. Fly into Ciampino. Public transport and parking is good. Prepare to walk up hill on occasions in town. Villa d'este well worth a visit BUT beware of payment on entry. (See Tip) Driving can be either exciting or challenging. Make sure if you go on the toll roads you understand how they work and how to pay. Local food is really reasonably priced if you choose well. "Botega del Grano" is an excellent choice in Tivoli.

Tivoli is a great location especially if you have previously visited Rome. It is much cheaper than Rome for food and drink and the quality of food is very good. For example we visited a restaurant in Rome for lunch - a restaurant we had previously visited - cost for lunchtime pasta for four with four beers and two Aperol Spritz 107 Euro's. Night time meal in Tivoli at a restaurant specializing in food from Tuscany for starters, meat main courses, six beers and 4 Aperol Spritz cost 117 Euro's. Tivoli offers easy access to Rome via Train. To be honest having visited Rome before was disappointed with how expensive it has become, entry to alot of the venue's had massively increased in price and hour long queues. Also found the city very dirty.

If you like quaint rustic italy, this is for you, gorgeous scenery, lots to do but do homework first as if you do not have a car, the public transport needed a recky first. Not all cafes open on a Monday, but when they are the food is lovely and very reasonably priced. Taverna de Dracula is a must fir romanian cuisine

We decided to end our trip through italy with 2 days in Tivoli. It was an excelent decision because we were able to slow down, relax and enjoy the city at the same time. The apartments location was excelent! Tivoli is a small town and we were able to visit everything by foot. The host was always extremely helpfull and available for advice regarding places to eat or visit. The appartment was big, had good conditions, and provided all the basic utensils to cook/ shower. I definitly recommend visiting Vila d'Este while staying there.

Really helpful hosts with exceptional communication and information about Tivoli - sites, bars, restaurants etc. Great care and attention to detail had gone into the redesign and decoration of the interior and exterior of the building, making the most of an old tower which, like the huge majority of houses in the old part of Tivoli, was relatively small. Its location is perfect for the visitor, an easy walk to everything with covered parking 200 metres away. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.

The host was very kind and her reaction speed was amazing. My child was tired of the long trip and wanted to check in early, And she was happy to do so. The location of the apartment was amazing. It was about a five-minute walking distance to Villa Deste. There are many restaurants worth a visit around and her husband recommended some nice restaurants. The conditions of the apartment are amazingly clean and new. If I visit Tivoli again, I will definitely come back to this accommodation.

we had a fantastic stay at the villa di Bruto. the owners are very friendly and they gave us a tour through the garden where we could discover the ruins of the old senator villa. Very interesting! our room was very clean, beautiful and had a fantastic view (we could also see the St. Peter from Vatican City). You can also reach the old city of Tivoli within walking distance. Parking is for free on the property of the villa. if you stay in Tivoli, we can highly recommend this hotel.

We had an excellent stay in the beautiful location of Tivoli old town. We enjoy the apartment so much , it was perfect to rest after visiting Villa Adriana, Villa D'Este, Villa Gregoriana and also after long day trips to Roma. Fantastic location for the vicinity to restaurants and shops. Our hos has been very kind to us and helpful in several occasions. I will recommend to stay in Casa Belvedere to anyone who is traveling to Roma, Tivoli and Castelli Romani.

What a fabulous country hotel, with a large on-site restaurant well-used by locals. We stayed on two different days and there were weddings and family parties taking place which gave it a great atmosphere without detracting from or disturbing our stay. Marco was very attentive and helped us, and Viviana served a great breakfast. The surroundings are magical and we would certainly return.

He was very helpful with places to visit, booking restaurant’s in area etc. We stayed two nights and Fillipo brought us for coffee and croissants each morning and paid for same. He also helped us with our luggage up and down the stairs. It’s only a few minutes walk to the famous gardens. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Tivoli.

The place was a lovely historic residence converted into a four room hotel. It’s right next to the river and a short walk from cafes and restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we got breakfast, assisting with luggage, explaining the history of the place, and just generally always there for us. Make sure you check out the underground heated pool as well.

After a month in Rome, I had a break and went to Tivoli for the day. I stayed overnight here. I got a lovely break in enjoying the air conditioned bedroom. In Italy's summer heat, this was joyous! The actual apartment is closer to Pope Greg's Park than Villa d'Est but both are close enough and Pope Greg's Park is fabulous in the summer heat!

Filippo the owner was extremely helpful and did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable, including getting us reservations at the best restaurant in Tivoli. I wish we would have stayed longer. There is so much to see and do in the area. The rooms were great and the bathrooms the best we experienced during our entire trip.
