Charming old town, narrow streets, lots of shops, many, many selling local produce, foie gras, etc. Centrally located to visit the highlights of the Dordogne. Many places to dine, seemingly pretty much the same menus everywhere except in a couple of higher end restaurants. It is hilly. Parking very hard, everywhere is payant, get the APP.

Sarlat was an amazing town and a great place to visit.
Sarlat was an amazing town and a great place to visit. Plenty of restaurants and bars, friendly people and lots of history. We could have stayed longer but only to explore the surrounding areas.
Will definitely stay again

Politeness and a smile opens many doors, I don't speak French well, but was very pleased at how friendly and polite the people were. I mean all the people not just the ones that are getting some financial benefit from you.
Basically, be nice, don't be an ass, and you won't get treated like one.
Take a moment to look at how many men these small towns lost during WWI, must have been devistating.

The best thing of Sarlat is the location: It's easy and fast to make day trips to the multiple interesting location in the area.
Food offering is quite unified between the restaurants, it gets a bit boring after a while. Having said that there are few really good restaurants but it takes effort to find them.

Very much a tourist town but none the worse for it.
Very much a tourist town but none the worse for it. Wonderful architecture, plenty of restaurants and local specialty shops, however found it difficult to find anywhere that you could stop, have a glass or cup of something and watch the world go by. Great base for trips along the Dordogne valley and the amazing towns and chateaux.

It’s a beautiful village. The people are warm and welcoming.
It’s a beautiful village. The people are warm and welcoming. We try to speak a little French and they always help to communicate with a friendly smile where they can. It’s a very easy village to navigate and walk around and full of wonderful cafes, restaurants and shops galore. Amazing. The Boulangeries are fabulous and we bought breakfast from them every morning. Breads and cakes too. Awesome.

One of the best stays we had so far! What a great, kind and welcoming couple Mike and Carol are. When we were in need of anything, they were always there to help! The apartment, attached to their house, with beautiful garden, private pool and BBQ, is absolutely amazing. It is new, clean and furnished with everything you need. The distance to the city center of Sarlat-la-Canéda is just a 10-15 minute walk away. We will definitely come back soon!
The hotel is up a steep incline from the main road...(much of Sarlat is) The location is fantastic. The room was up several flights of stairs and there is no elevator, not uncommon but just be aware. Believe we got the last room available so it had an extra room we did not need but it gave us a little more space. Liked the built-in little desks. We used them to plan our visit. Front desk staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful.
Thank you for the kindest hosting family who prepared this apartment for the guests.
Beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean. We felt at home. Kitchen was really well-equiped so we had dinner in the apartment. It was an experience of living in the heart of the beauiful Sarlat la Caneda. The kindest owners helped us about the parking and more.
We re hoping to come back.
The most remarkable boutique hotel. Each room with its own unique interior. staff was vert friendly and competent. The restoration very impressively done. Although our stay was brief, the comfort gave us the feeling of being welcome. The hotel suited the midieval flavor of Sarlat.

The property is superbly located in the center of the medieval town close to many excellent restaurants. The owners were fabulous, helped us with restaurant reservations, met us at the hotel, and had many suggestions, and had a surprisingly well stocked kitchen for us. The room itself was wonderful.
The hotel was idealy located for Sarlat. A few paces away from the restaurants and shops yet nice and quiet. The bedroom was extremely comfortable, the breakfast excellent. Alisa and Daniel were lovely hosts. Was able to park in their grounds. Would definately stay here again.
This was probably the prettiest apartment I have stayed at in France. The living space was exceptionally roomy. It felt like we were staying in a chateau. The bedrooms were comfortable. All the appliances were top notch. I would definitely come back to stay here. Magical.
The location was amazing and beautiful. The entrance is directly onto a main tourist square. We enjoyed some music in the square from our hotel room. The owners went out of their way to assist us in catching our train, as the time was changed last minute.
The hosts were wonderful & very helpful. The breakfast (which we had 3 days out of 5) was delicious. The hotel is right in the old town of
Sarlat, and although the building was old, the room and bathroom were renovated & lovely.

Thé hotel was beautiful and the room and bathroom were very nice. The grounds were also beautiful and the owners very helpful and nice. I would absolutely stay here again.
The proprietor was extremely helpful with dinner suggestions and also emergency room information when I needed stitches. Hotel was nice and quiet but still close to town.
Right in the center of Sarlat. The hotel has some parking available a few blocks from the hotel. Room was charming but mind your head on the wooden beam
Anne Marie was the most welcoming and helpful individual we have met in a hotel. Pool was a bonus. Access to Sarlat by car very simple - 3 minute drive
