This apartment was lovely, with a terrace and a fantastic view. Unfortunately, I couldn't really enjoy it as I stayed only for two nights because of an event in Russell. The Owner was very friendly, and I felt very comfortable there.
Just 1476 feet from Kororareka Bay, Bellrock Lodge offers studios with a private balcony and lovely bay and town views.

The longer we stayed here the more we liked it! The location is wonderful - just a very short walk to downtown Russell with shops and restaurants. And what you get in exchange is an incredible view! Bed was the comfiest of our trip - cushy and soft but not saggy at all. Good a/c but nice to have the doors open in the daytime. Lots of good walks and we swam a few times at the beach that was 2 minutes away. Great stay!
Located 10 minutes' walk from Russell's bars, restaurants and cafes, Titore Lodge offers rooms with free WiFi and a private patio.

Russell is heavenly.
Russell is heavenly. It is so beautiful and we had the best time.
What a gem this part of the world has access to! The oysters were amazing. The food/experience and service at the Duke of Marlborough was first rate. The sunsets were surreal. The visit to Urupakapuka by ferry led to an amazing day of exercise and adventure, we had a heavenly swim in one of the islands isolated beaches by ourselves.
What a day!🥰

If you are around Bay of islands I suggest to not stay at Paihai and go to Russell. Smaller, quieter and much nicer. There is a ferry across to Paihai if you want to go there.
Long Beach is not to be missed and we enjoyed the Flagstaff walk too.

Nice & quiet in the middle of winter.Gets very busy at summertime so booking ahead is essential. Always good food at The Duke restaurant & great front rooms with a balcony with sea views & a view of the street, great for a couple of drinks before heading to the bar!

Russell was so cool.
Russell was so cool. Easy to get around and so lovely in Winter as very few people. The history is interesting and the people were mostly friendly.
Next time we will stay 3 nights as we really relaxed and book a trip to Sage restaurant for a special treat.

It is a beautiful location and peaceful.
It is a beautiful location and peaceful. There are enough cafe's / restaurants for 4 or 5 days but plenty more in nearby resorts. The one thing you need to realise about NZ is that "eateries" general cafe's and take aways open early 6 or 7 am but close early too, 3 or 4pm. In general the stop serving an hour before. A lot of restaurants open 12 to 3pm and 5 to 8pm. If you want to eat late you need to check on line for places. Very few apart from Asian places take orders after 9pm.
Good supermarket. Lovely sea and beaches around. Public loos are quite prolific in NZ including beaches with changing rooms. The whole country top to bottom is wort a visit. Low traffic levels apart from cities. Lot of mountain roads.
Location was perfect - in the heart of Russell with a view over the jetty and bay. The little covered seating area, equipped with outdoor furniture was a great place to unwind and watch the sunset over Paihia.
Bentley and Porsche, the local felines, called by each evening to say hello and were delightful. Pool, spa pool and laundry were some of the amenities on offer.
We extended our stay by an extra night - three in total.
Would recommend and definitely would stay again.
The location is very good , walking distance from the sea waterfront where all the restaurants and bars are located .
The breakfast was correct , we found everything in the room and the refrigerator . We had breakfast in the terrace just out of our room, it was great ! Mrs Sue , the owner of Villa Russel is a very nice lady and help us a lot giving very interesting suggestions .
Great location, quiet, comfortable and charmingly historic, plus incredible views over the water. The breakfasts were a fortifying and delectable gift each morning and served on the veranda with amazing views. Very accessible to the wonderful amenities of Russell and the owners provided useful local suggestions which were always spot on. One of the highlights of our trip.
The studio is one of a group of 4 but remains private. There is a small balcony where you can sit overlooking the lovely view of the sea. The kitchen is small but well equipped and there is an outdoor kitchen for guests to use if you want to cook something. It's easy to find and there is good parking. Russell is just 5 minutes away but you would need a car.
We booked two rooms in this lovely quiet area. The studios are very spacious, clean and comfortable and contain a kitchenette. Both rooms had a private balcony and beautiful views over Russell and the bay. The lodge is just a short walk to the waterfront and restaurants.
Owner Catherine was very pleasant and helpful.
We were in unit D which was spacious and had a fully equipped kitchen. Seaport Village is literally in the middle of Russell less than a minutes walk to the wharf, and even closer to shops and restaurants. Cleanliness is excellent and the manager is very friendly and helpful. We will stay here again.
Amazing view from the location, you have a view over Russell and all the inner bay area across to Paihia. Great linen and very comfy beds. Place was very warm. Very convenient to town and as a base to explore around Russell.
Super friendly and helpful man that was running the place. We were in unit e and it was nice and private with massive room.
Hotel was 2 minute walk to water front and everything else you needed including whalf
The pool location was good, location of the motel was excellent, close to all the amenities. Very nice hosts, there were very helpful. The room was very clean and well spacious for our requirements.
We only stopped in for a night, but our room was nice and warm when we arrived. Facilities seemed well looked. Will definitely be back next time we are in Russell!
