Very nice town, which was quite suprising for us. Alongside the rhein river. Many classical half-timbered houses. Nice surroundings.
Very quiet. Not many (any?) open restaurants on a monday evening (passing through, just for one night).

We found Bacharach via online reviews and recommendations.
We found Bacharach via online reviews and recommendations. It was all it was described to be. Beautiful, authentic, less touristed and the locals were extremely friendly. Would recommend a train trip to Bacharach to experience the beautiful views on the Rhine.

It was very quiet, although we expected that it should be high season and therefore busier. It is a beautiful old town and well worth visiting. We were disappointed that KD had cancelled boat trips up and down the river on the day we were there, so there was less to do than we had planned.

For us, Bacharach was a visit to a totally charming village of numerous old homes ( some dating back pre-16th century, yet well-restored and maintained) and cobbled streets.
During our stay, we walked:
- up to the castle above the town - strenuous for us-we are both in our 70s!
- about 3km towards Kalb (sited on the opposite side of the Rhine;
- about 6km up into the hills above Bacharach.
Each of these walks were highlights of our five-day stay.
In summary, we had the benefit of a very comfortable apartment, excellent, thoughtful hosts; combined with a visit to a beautiful town.

The owner was very friendly helpful and accommodating.
The owner was very friendly helpful and accommodating. Rooms were adequate for our stay, with balcony, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a varied selection of choice.
they accommodated the parking for our Motorcycles next to the hotel, which was perfect.
Location was excellent, and the town lovely, would have liked to spend an extra day, but travel arrangements did not allow.
It was very close to the town, which was very convenient as we could walk around without using our car. The apartment was very large, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen was very large as well and had everything we needed. Besides the property itself, Bacharach is a small town with many historical buildings. It has a nice walking trail where you can enjoy beautiful views. If you are going to be driving, the entire area is quiet beautiful due to all the small towns along the Rhine.
This hotel was simply beautiful. Well decorated, comfortable, and very clean rooms, each with a balcony overlooking the street and all the old shops below. The location can't be beat, either. Bacharach is small, so there probably isn't a bad location, but shops, parking, restaurants, etc. are all just a few steps away from Altkölnischer Hof.
Breakfast was quite good, as well. The usual assortment of coffee/tea, juices, meats and breads, etc. We really enjoyed it.
nothing good about this hotel. Management refused to recognise my booking even when I showed them the confirmation. They increased the price from 70 to 90 euros and demanded cash payment immediately. The lady was vey aggressive and it was take it or out. As it was late and after cycling all day I took it. on departure the gentleman followed me around everywhere presumably to ensure I didn’t steal the room key. Very insulting.
A perfect stay. The apartment was bigger then we thought it would be and the location is perfect. The staff was absolutely amazing. I don't have the name of the young man but he was very nice, helpful and friendly. Thank you.
The hotel has a beautiful restaurant. I recommend trying the wine carousel, where you can taste many local wines.
I highly recommend this hotel.
Wonderful home base for exploring the Rhine! The apartment fit our family of 5 perfectly, and the views from the terrace were amazing. The drive down to Bacharach was quite short, perhaps 5 minutes. It was nice to get away to a quiet hamlet on top of the hill at the end of a long day. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
The hotel is located just outside the centre of Bacharach, within walking distance but outside the busy areas. So ideal!
The hotel itself is pleasant, with a homely layout and comfortable rooms. Reception by the owner was most friendly.
The breakfast was good.
the apartment is carefully designed with a lot of lovely details. there is a picnic box and a SOS box with spaghetti + source! although it is in a very old building, the apartment is clean and with stable warm shower water. there are some nice restaurants nearby.
This town is really a pearl of the Rhein Valley. Beautiful architecture, a lot of history and unique atmosphere.
The hotel was also great. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was really amazing. Our room was comfortable and nicely furnished.
The apartment is big, cosy and has nice decorations. There is everything you need, even a picnic basket kitchen set!! We love it and would love to come back to stay here again if we have a chance to visit Bacharach again 😍
It was super! Very pretty place for stay! I recommend! The owner waited us and showed all. A hospitable and friendly woman. This hotel is a private big house with 3 floors. Not far from train station and centre of town.
The owners were great - very welcoming and informative. My room was very comfortable, with its own sink and a private bathroom just across the hall. Bacharach itself was wonderful, with beautiful old houses all around.
A friendly family run hotel in a quiet location but easy walk to the centre of Bacharach (uphill back.) If you have children with you (we didn't) it would be very welcoming for them and a playground just up the road
it was so old tradition boutique hotel and clean
- the hosts was helpful and when we went to breakfast it was almost finished but they ask us if we need something and they do it .
Rolf went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. The room was very clean and comfortable. Perfect location for Bacharach. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommended!
Zur Fledermaus was an absolute hidden gem! Sonja was a fantastic host! She took time out of her day to help us plan our trip in Bacharach. Definitely worth the stay.
