Esslingen is a small, medieval town just two S-Bahn or regional train stops from Stuttgart (less than 10 minutes). It's very central to many places you may want to visit in the state of Baden-Wuerttemburg. For me, it made the perfect "home base." The town is small, so quiet and not overly touristy, but big enough to keep you busy wandering the streets of the old town, shopping, eating, and hiking up into the vineyards for a couple of days. Very historic feel with lots of photogenic old buildings and cobblestone streets. Excellent Swabian restaurants as well as a good mix of international cuisines. The opportunities to taste wine and walk in the vineyards and up to the Burg (fort) were an added bonus.

Esslingen is a historic town southeast of Stuttgart.
Esslingen is a historic town southeast of Stuttgart. It has a very lovely downtown area, and reasonable shopping. It is served by the S banh surface train that goes to Stuttgart in 20 minutes or so. It is next to where the Mercedes-Benz factory is located.
From Esslingen you can take short trips to many other nice historical locations. Driving a car is a must but Germany is one of the best countries to drive I know.

Esslingen is a great town to visit.
Esslingen is a great town to visit. It is more than one thousand years old and has a lot of historical monuments.
Strolling through the "Altstadt" with the old houses and the many outdoor cafes is a real pleasure.

We have been to Esslingen from Stuttgart for the mediaeval Christmas market. We wanted to see it during May so went for4 days. Esslingen is a beautiful town. Many small streets with great building, so impressive postcard looking. You can wander to the market square so many different ways. Lovely restaurants and coffee and cake places to eat and chat. When we go to Stuttgart Christmas market again we will stay in Esslingen and travel to Stuttgart from there.

Lovely old town, really pretty .
Lovely old town, really pretty . Lady in tourist office really helpful and informative. There is a bus that goes to the airport cheaper than the train and with no changes. Sunday is really quiet there with shops closed. Plenty of places to eat and drink.
Position is ok, nice view on Esslingen and Stuttgart, quiet position (restaurant worked but I didn't hear any noice / outdoor terrace was closed because it was still to cold outside), area around is nice for walking and riding a bike (I recommend e-bike because hotel is on top of hill ;) ), clean room, comfortable mattresses, enough free parking place of hotel or at street around hotel, free WiFi, enough hot water at any time of the day (or night), empty mini bar for food or drink.
This was a perfect place for me to stay, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay outside of the hustle and bustle of Stuttgart. Very easy to find and convenient location, where you could walk everywhere. Easy access from the train station and to the old town center. Super clean, quiet and spacious, with wonderful views. I got some of the best sleep of my entire 4 week trip here!
This flat is an amazing place where to stay in Esslingen . It is large 2 bed ( max 5 guests) , with high ceiling . And it has a great location - super close to train/bus station and town centre . We absolutely loved underfloor heating in toilet . There is ironing board and iron available and of course kitchen . Flat is in stone house , it was nice inside - when outside was +34C
The location was excellent, very close to the S Bahn station with a bus stop right outside. The room was comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast was good and prepared us for the day. Staff were also friendly and helpful. The hotel was great value for visiting the excellent Christmas Market in Esslingham, which was a bus ride or 2 stops on the S Bahn from the hotel.
Absolutely beautiful flat, with lots of light and spacious for a studio. Well equipped! There was tea, coffee and water waiting there for us. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was so nice. Bus stop was very close which made it easy to travel to the inner city of Esslingen or on to another destination. Would definitely stay there again!
It was easy to contact our host, who met us at the property, showed us around and handed over the keys. She was very friendly and gave us some tips regarding where to go and where to eat. It is a cosy little apartment 3 minutes walk from the Christmas Market. We liked Esslingen with its medieval town centre and lovely restaurants around.
The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable and the hotel was in a good location by the city center. The breakfast room was bright and cheerful. I was pleasantly surprised to find a couple hot options in addition to the usual breakfast fare. Appreciated the fresh fruit. The staff were excellent and very helpful.
Great place to stay in the Stuttgart arera - quiet, large and clean rooms, good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The restaurant deserves a separate line - not only the food was fabolous (steaks!!), but the service despite the place being fully loaded was very nice and professional.
The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious and on the first day (we arrived in the evening) we also ate dinner in the Raffaelo restaurant in the hotel, which was also great. The hotel is a short stroll from the center of the town.
Located right next to Hoschschule Esslingen and by the river, with a lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Breakfast had plenty of options and was overall good. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Although no car parking at the Hotel there was a great underground carpark within 3mins walk. It was 10euros for 24hours but worth it.
Breakfast was excellent good value
One of the best hotel i have ever stay♥️! I highly recommend!
The bed was so comfy and the tv had netflix on it!
I loved the shower, with the massage mode!!
