Central location convenient for visiting the two castles. There is nothing there apart from a series of hotels and a few restaurants. Even so, much more conventient than staying further out and paying for parking etc.
For more amenties and activities apart form the castles try Fussen, 15 minutes away

This city is amazing and the people are so nice.
This city is amazing and the people are so nice. I had all good experiences during my stay in the area. The Castle Hohenschwangau is worth a visit as well. Most people just go to Neuschwanstein, but please visit the Hohenschwangau Castle as well. Do not eat at the Hotel Muller Bistro quick snack place. The Jumbo hot dog was terrible, and I had an ache in my stomach the rest of the day. Eat at one of the sit down restaurants!

Woman from reception was completely stressed out wich is unpleasant if you have just traveled so we didn't feel very welcome when checking in. After 17:00 not possible to eat anything. Bad WIFI and breakfast ( no fruit) that was not what you expect fir this price. Rooms did not have insulated walls. Perfect distance from the Neuschwanstein castle ( only 200 meters)

We only had one night here which had to fit into our other travel plans. Was a great experience and we will be back for at least 3 nights so we can do further mountains, hikes and cycling. The place has stunning vistas can highly recommend.

Fairy-tail castle build by a romantic young king in a fantastic location high-up in the Bavarian mountains and overlooking a lake surrounded by dense forest. It is a destination worth seeing, part Disney World (the castle itself), part reality (its location). Prior reading up on the historical facts is recommended, though. Visits are well organized, but generally require some waiting for busses and scheduled tours. The physically fit can hike up, instead, but everything has its price, including parking.

Hohenschwangau was a winter fairytale.
Hohenschwangau was a winter fairytale. We had gently falling snow for our stay in December and the township was lit up for Christmas. It was truly magical. We enjoyed the drive through the wintry countryside to get to this destination, one of the most beautiful drives with snow-laden trees and a snow cleared safe passage. Neuschwanstein Castle is a short walk or horse-drawn carriage ride free from the township. There is ample paid parking (10 Euros for a car) for those visiting the castle on a day trip. We dined on traditional Bavarian food a short stroll from our hotel whilst other members of our group dined at Hotel Muller. Service is exceptional. It is like the service providers in this township have made a collective pact to leave every visitor with the best and warmest memories to cherish. I will be telling everyone about this wonderful experience.
Hotel within walking distance of both castles provided it’s not too hot and reasonably able.
Good sized room, air conditioning, comfortable bed, good linen.
Nice outside area for sitting, comfortable seats.
Excellent breakfast.
Friendly, helpful staff.
No restaurant but a few within walking distance (5mins). The hotel will reserve for you.
This is a busy area due to many tourists but quietens down late afternoon.
The hotel was nice and was next to Neuschwanstein castle, car parking was free next to the hotel which was good as we didn't have to do the half an hour walk up the hill to the castle. We walked to the castle from the hotel and to the best viewpoint of the castle. The staff were nice and nicely dressed. The breakfast was good.
The location is great. It’s the only hotel on the mountain so you have the castle and the mountain to yourself outside of castle tour hours(10am-4pm) in the winter. Only downside is food is hard to come by after 5pm. You will have to walk down the mountain to other restaurants. Otherwise great value for money.
Rooms are excellent, especially old furnitures. It seems like home and there is a life in there. Staffs were so friendly and kind. It takes just five minutes by walking to an amazing lake and also Schloss Neuschwanstein can be seen from the hotel. There is also sufficient area for parking just near the hotel.
The rooms were spacious and the beds were so comfortable, breakfast was great, and the views were immaculate! Bridgette was such a gracious hostess. It was also so easy to access the castles - we just walked down the street as we watched cars and busses of people driving in from elsewhere.
This is definitely a place that is well equipped and decorated with care. My friends and I stayed in this warm house, enjoying board games and cooking together. And with a view of the Swan Castle from the patio, it was definitely a refreshing view of the castle.
This hotel is physically the closest one can get to sleeping in the two famous castles. The horse carriage start point is right at the hotel.
Staff had prepared a bed for our dog and even put out some food for her.
Breakfast is excellent.
excellent location near the castle. Had to pay for parking €8 but was told that in advance. The bed was a bit smaller than expected. Usually in Germany a lat double is two singles put together to make a 6ft bed. This wasn’t the case here.
Super location. Can see Neuschwanstein Castle from the street in front of the hotel. Walking distance to the ticket center and bus station. The combination of a restaurant with the hotel is a great idea and it’s a wonderful restaurant.
The hotel is nice and has everything you need right there such as restaurant, snack bar, souvenir shop and it’s right next door to the ticket centre for the castles. Staff were friendly and the food at the restaurant was great.
Perfect location for the castle. The bus stop and horse/carriage stop are both located within 1 minute of the hotel. The welcome that we were given was extremely friendly- the lady on the front desk made us feel very welcome.
Location couldn’t have been better. You can see both castles from the property, and it’s a 10 min walk to Hohenschwangau castle. Neuschwanstein is easy too but a longer walk (same for everyone)
The hotel is located between two castles, more closer to the Hohenschangau castle. The best location to visit two castles. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff are so friendly.
Fantastic hotel especially the room with the bathtub and the view of the castle. Absolutely above any expectations. The breakfast was nice as well. The castle is super closer by foot.
Location! right at the castle was perfect. We could drive to the hotel while the castle visitors had to walk.
Staff was nice and the food was great. Great value! Quiet at night.
