A compact room and good for a short stay. The room was clean and the bed okay. Breakfast was simple but with good products. Nice juice and good coffee.
Rooms are very well isolated, so we did not hear any of the other guests.

Amazing view for breakfast. Breakfast was also very good. I was amazed at how well the lady at the front was able to keep up with the quest coming and going in addition to keeping the breakfast stock and the coffee hot. Overall, simply amazing. SO MUCH BETTER THEN THE BIG CHAINS.

No one was on reception also, however the whole experience was perfect beside this and Wifi. the room was laaaarge. the bathroom and toilet were great and room had heated radiators. the location is also exactly at junction of the river.

Germany’s oldest city and a provincial capital of the Western Roman Empire until the 3rd century, Trier is overflowing with exquisite architecture and Roman ruins such as the Amphitheater and Porta Nigra gate. The colossal Cathedral Trier is also the oldest of its kind in Germany.
The historic landmarks continue with the 2nd-century Roman bridge that crosses over the Moselle River, which also passes through nearby Luxembourg and France. Cruises along the Moselle start in Koblenz and end in Trier.
Trier was the home of Karl Marx and the 15th-century University of Trier is home to a large student population that often refers to the university as Karl-Marx-University of Trier. His birthplace is now a museum, Karl Marx House.
A wonderful example of the Christmas markets in Germany can be found each year in Trier, at Hauptmarkt Square in front of the cathedral. Make sure you check Booking.com for special deals on hotels during this period.

Trier is an interesting town, however be aware all the facilities & services you might be familiar with & expecting, may not be available. Such as; taxi, Uber, restaurants open outside of regular hours - these may all be an issue, according to what we experienced.
Some of this was due to Christmas & New Years limited hours and services. Taxis and Uber-type services are an issue, and appear unreliable.

I love Roman history so Trier was a must-see for me.
I love Roman history so Trier was a must-see for me. The main tourist attractions are easily searchable online but the city is small enough to be completely walkable. I was there at the end of November and there were already Christmas markets set up which was fun to walk around - buy the Glühwein (mulled wine) if you're there at that time.
You have to eat at Weinstube Zum Domstein! They have traditional Roman food offerings which were delicious. I loved the meal so much, especially sitting in the Roman Basement (Römer Keller) where they have displayed Roman artifacts. Such a cool dining experience.

Trier is quaint and manageable for a small city. Friendly and hospitable locals. There were enough English-speaking workers in various establishments. I enjoyed the walking trails. The city has a lot to offer for Roman history enthusiasts. It has a far reaching and interesting history as a city in its own right.

Trier is a beautiful town with historical buildings and a lot of interesting things to see and do!
Everything is close together in walking distance!
Nice restaurants with traditional food and friendly service. Lots of shopping options for all wallets and interests. Town maps and signs all over the town are helping to find what you want.
We loved the market squares and the Weinbrunnen in the middle where you get a lovely glass of wine most hours!
The location is wonderful. It is just outside the hustle and bustle of the city so it's nice and quiet, with a fantastic view of the city and easy parking but still very close. Our host was so friendly and helpful. She had very good English and gave us a map of Trier and showed us things to go see and where to park and recommended a very delicious restaurant. The rooms were a good size with balconies. Other reviewers complained about the older furniture but we thought it just added charm. It is a lovely hotel and we would recommend it.
This hotel provided modern amenities with a local feel in an excellent location. This is a fairly new facility and is located right in front of the Kornmarkt (which is a gorgeous plaza near the center of town). The rooms were spacious and everything you need is within a short walking distance. We didn't try the breakfast at the hotel (if they had one), but there were greeat restaurants and shops a plenty nearby. We visited 8 different countries and cities/towns during this trip and this area was one of the most pleasantly surprising.
This place is outstanding! Communication with the host was easy, and she was so helpful. The apartment has everything you could want and more. The welcome gifts were a very lovely touch. I loved the decor. The owner has done an amazing job of making the most out of the space. We walked to everything and easily saw everything there was to see in the historic town of Trier in two days. A third day was spent indoors due to weather, but the apartment was so cozy, it did not matter.
Great Cozy little studio. Equipped with everything necessary
- Very clean
- And everything there even for longer stays, fully equiped kitchen, good internet and a comfortable bed.
- For the same price as a hotel room the absolutely better choice. Also the location was amazing, right in the center of Trier, close to many quite cafés and good restaurants.
The host was really really nice and helpful. The coffee machine including free pads was a very nice touch!
Will come again!!
Always a great small hotel in Trier! Always very friendly staff! So close to Porta Nigra and to the beautiful Christmas market! We love Trier and this hotel! Parking is convenient, breakfast is sufficient and there is an elevator to get you up the floors to your nice, clean room!
There is a Norma store right next door for any shopping needs - toiletries, drinks, fruit, chocolate, breads, etc
This is a small, traditional hotel ideal for people who are in Trier to discover the city and surroundings and just need a place to sleep. Everything is rather old-fashioned but clean and perfectly working. No stressing electronic gadgets in your door - just classical lock and key. You don't have to think to use the shower. Friendly staff, comfortable beds. Good breakfast.
A great hotel in a quiet woodland location but still not too far to walk to town (30 min) or 2 minute walk to grab a town bus. Excellent buffet breakfast and excellent bistro with a good selection of traditional German pub favourites. Great lounge facilities with self serve drinks access for after hours. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was at a good standard for this price range of hotel.
The location is excellent - there is a garden area, an outside area with plenty of tables, and the hotel is almost surrounded by mature trees in which birds were singing. A quiet area. Trier is a 30 minute walk away, down a substantial hill.
Extremely well located in the centre of Trier.
Staff at reception and in restaurant was helpful and friendly. Room was efficient, the bathroom a bit small but sufficient, the bed was comfortable and had a good mattress.
Parking available in a public parking garage, with direct access to the hotel.
Beautiful hotel! Fabulous location. Staff incredibly helpful. We had a personal health issue, which landed one person in our party in the hospital overnight (ugh!) and the staff was so accommodating and sympathetic. Would recommend this property to anyone visiting Trier.
Great location about 20 minute walk to town. Quite a traditional hotel. Room very cosy and traditionally decorated. Bathroom was good. Ate in the restaurant bar and food was good. Great parking spaces. The town of Trier was lovely and we spent a few hours looking around.
Friendly staff and quiet area with no disturbances. Good basic hotel with excellent Wifi and television, not far from Trier on the bus, but no cafe in the area where it would be possible to have a cafe and croissant in the mornings
We had a Nice stay for the second time. We came to trier for the 7th time and had a number of hotels but this hotel is the best of all of them. Central located, Nice personal, very nice bedding and a clean and modern hotel.
A very quiet room. We thought that the hotel was empty because we heard nothing, and were astonished to see the large number of people at breakfast. Good breakfast. Convenient parking. Recommended venue for Trier.
The hotel is nice, we were offered free beverages upon arrival, there is free parking, and it’s close to the city center. We only stayed for one night to see the Christmas market, and we had a nice stay.
Comfortable and welcoming with ample car parking makes this my favourite Trier hotel. Always good value so I stay here often. Check in and check out times are most convenient.
For German standards, this Hotel far exceeds American standard. It is compared to a $1000/ night 5 star Hotel.
Note: I'm German living in the US and traveled the world.
