A step back in time! Small historic town, traditional butcher, baker and greengrocer, independent shops. Very friendly helpful locals. I can recommend The New Inn for great evening meals at reasonable prices. Be prepared to travel some very narrow windy lanes in this area though!

We did not see anything of Beaminster.
We did not see anything of Beaminster. It was only a one night stop over.
The town looked pretty and there are things to see and do in the neighborhood. Will visit again and would stay at the Ollerod again. Had an excellent dinner at the Ollerod.
The Ollerod lives up to all the positive reviews we read here. Our room was beautiful, large and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent and varied. The facilities are simple enough but good. Very nice bar, restaurant and walled garden areas. The hotel's location is quite off the beaten track but Beaminster is a great starting-point from which to explore all areas of Dorset, as well as being an attractive place in itself with many local walks and attractions.
A great little cottage, comfortable, quiet, well-equipped and very clean although a bit of a tight fit for four adults. The location was fantastic - just a short stroll to the centre of Beaminster with a number of pubs, restaurants, take-aways, and shops (even a superb independent bookshop). Also very convenient for walking the Hardy Way. Communication with the owners was excellent and we appreciated their flexibility with check-in and check-out. Welcome basket and fresh flowers were also nice touches.
A beautifully appointed and presented, thoroughly clean, well thought out, 2 bedroomed property with vaulted ceilings (in the bedrooms) and extremely conveniently located close to Beaminster Village with two village pubs, perfect village shops and fabulous fashion boutiques and gift shops. A beautiful, wonderfully established back garden with a relaxing water feature that is thoughtfully designed. Would thoroughly recommend this property.
Beaminster is a pleasant enough town, surrounded by attractive countryside. It is within easy reach of the sea and the Jurassic coast. The property is not far from the centre of town. The cottage is on a single level, well designed to offer all facilities within a simple rectangular footprint. Access to a well-maintained garden is permitted. The owners are friendly and their house is adjacent to the cottage.
The property was very easy to find and for our purposes was well situated for Montacute, Beaminster, Bridport and the coast.
The bed was very comfortable - the house seems so warm we would have been quite happy with a lighter duvet! Everything was as you'd wish for, along with some thoughtful touches. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Lovely old house in lovely setting, good heated pool, animals to see, walk intp Beaminster. Host gave us guided tour of the estate which was interesting. Quirky decorations and furnishing, aga for cooking. Comfy beds. Handy for Lyme, Seaton, fossil hunting etc.
We enjoyed our stay in the thatched cottage in a typical Dorset village and would love to stay again. Lovely host, friendly locals and a very peaceful setting. Good pub nearby which had a restaurant with reasonably priced menu.
Great place, Beaminster is idyllic. Cosy little cottage that the kids absolutely loved. Even a few games and puzzles to entertain us. Close to Jurassic coast for fossil hunting and nice national trust half an hour north.
Beautiful cottage, exceptionally clean.Very comfy beds.Lovely furnishings.Had everything we needed for our stay in Beaminster.Loved the welcome pack thankyou.
