A bucolic location, full of pastoral scenery and nice variety of hiking trails to keep families busy in the outdoors. Also plenty of gentle waterways and launching spots for boating activities. A few pubs and cafes around for adults wishing to enjoy the summer nights.

The shop (co-op) was very useful and kept good hours.

The shop (co-op) was very useful and kept good hours. We only tried two of the local pubs and both served good food, both landlords were very amenable and prices very reasonable. There is little or no street lighting, so take a torch. Just on the edge of a beautiful part of an area of outstanding natural beauty: walk in any direction and you understand why Constable painted so much nearby.
