The location and property are lovely . Breakfast was very good . The guest house was extremely clean and homely .
Mr & Mrs Pooley were welcoming and friendly , they made sure our stay was good .
I would definately stay again and recommend Smithy Lodge .

Exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. Very good buffet breakfast. Spacious, comfortable room. I always particularly appreciate a bathroom with a bath as well as a shower. Very good location - Preston station just a few minutes' walk away. Ideal for solo traveler/short stay.

Nice, cosy room in a house (Room #9 with 3 beds). It was a very quiet place to rest well. Wonderful people at the reception and the dining room. Tasty Breakfast options (Typical English and Continental).
Might try the independent annex the next time for a longer stay (we just stayed for a night to rest on the way from Scotland to London).

Accommodation was A1 but it could be improved by having more twin rooms available. All staff were extremely courteous and helpful Easy to get around Leyland if you follow Sat Nav advice. It is the middle of winter in inclement weather so can’t really judge the activities available.

We loved everything about r stay .
We loved everything about r stay . Great hamper provided and Trisha was only a text away if we needed anything. The house was amazing very clean and tidy and very stylish decore and furnishings . I would recommend staying here we loved our stay and look forward to returning next year.

Lovely spacious room, even better than in the photos provided. The hotel is situated on a farm. So much to see, lovely walks, and you can feed the ducks and fish. The donkeys and ponies seem to be very well cared for. It was a lovely experience and the staff were so welcoming in the evening when we arrived late. We’ll definitely be back! Staff at the booking agency were pleasant and helpful and arranged for someone to provide us with an extra 5 mugs, enough cutlery for 7 and a dish-cloth and t-towel. There is a large garden area, which we didn't use as we visited in February, but it would be a good, enclosed outdoor space in summer.

It was very clean too. It is conveniently located for Leyland town-centre, being only 10 minutes or so walk. The owner was very helpful, and quick to respond to the questions I submitted prior to arrival. We were only staying one night but would happily have stayed for longer. The rooms are basic, as it's a motel but with decent furnishings, and presumably popular with guests attending events at the attached function venue and bar. Free car park, no fuss check-out and easy access to the motorway.
