The Bell Inn is several miles from Lyndhurst in the beautiful New Forest; lovely walks over heath and woodland and, if you're lucky, you'll encounter ponies, donkeys and pigs roaming free locally; drive carefully!

Lyndhurst is a great place to stay for exploring the New Forest. It has a good mix of interesting shops and restaurants and a good sized car-park in the centre. That said, it can get very busy and there can be traffic queues in high-season since it is a bit of a bottleneck. So I'd recommend visiting slightly off-season.

The location the area nice cosy pub the size of our room 4 What let it down for us was the lack of options for gluten free breakfast no cereals no fruit no yogurts then when we did get breakfast it was cold toast rock hard it wasn’t even busy only us two for breakfast We wanted to order gluten free fish and chips but fryer broken so was limited on evening options but what we did order was tasty I must say I was impressed by the staff knowledge on g/f intolerance and allergies.

Lyndhurst has some interesting shops particularly the antiques emporium and some nice pubs and restaurants and the Anglican church of St Michael's where the original Alice who was the model for ''Alice in Wonderland''was buried. I went to the Passage to India Indian restaurant which is quite near to the Penny Farthing hotel. There is a Ferrari showroom if you want to check them out but the cars are very expensive.

It is a lovely village, full of character.

It is a lovely village, full of character. It was the fourth, or fifth, time we have stayed in, or around, Lyndhurst. There are great shops, cafe's, restaurants and pubs. It is small enough to comfortably walk around. We ate in "The Forage, which is a modern Italian style restaurant with a very good menu selection. The only issue is that Lyndhurst is a focal point for all the roads into and out of the NewForest, which often leads to long traffic queues into and out of the village. However, the main road through is one way, which makes it easier for pedestrians to cross.

Lyndhurst is a wonderful village and just the right distance to really lovely walks in the New Forest. Shops, pubs and restaurants mostly dog friendly and offer a nice range of foods. Love the antiques shop at the top of the village, welcoming and some great nic naks if you've the time to have a snoop!

This is my second time staying at the Beaulieu hotel. we love it to much! The staff are incredible and so helpful, the rooms are all a little different modern and clean, the location is lovely! we like to go for a walk around the surrounding of the hotel and there are always so many horses! We often head into lydhurst for food- we like “the new forest inn” wonderful food and pub. however this time we had dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel! it was lovely and looked to be located in an old stable!

Breakfast was brilliant! Lovely and tasty. Hotel was in a great location, easy to get places and walk into beautiful Lyndhurst town. Loved the spa bath in the deluxe room, so relaxing and good to unwind. Really liked the wallpaper with the deers on, very in-keeping to the new forest. The hotel had some cute decor, eg the sunflowers and fresh flowers, also the love heart hanging on the entrance and exit of walkway path. Tv and lounge area was a cute touch to the deluxe room. Friendly staff as well.

Thought this was a nice old place, friendly staff and just a short walk from the town centre or, 100 yards to the pub if you couldn't be bothered to go further. Good sized room; we actually only stayed here as found Portsmouth prices were too high that weekend. Good choice should have stayed two nights! Decent breakfast the next day. We were at the back of the hotel so the fact this is on the main road into Lyndhurst didn't affect us (although it wasn't that busy by 9 pm anyway)

Breakfast ok. Would have liked tinned tomatoes and bacon more cooked. Christmas dinner bit salty for my taste. Croissant stale unfortunately. But... Carl, you, your team are all top class. Your staff are a credit to you and the company. Beautifully decorated, service 100. Value for money. Last minute booking so didn't have time to look at loads of hotels. I could not have chosen better if I'd have had more time to browse. Thank you.

Great location on the edge of Lyndhurst town centre, one of the nicest towns in the New Forest. We received a warm welcome from the charming and very helpful host. We arrived on one of the hottest days of the year and our room had been cooled by having the curtains closed - a nice touch.

The location was fabulous, within easy walking distance from Lyndhurst and The New Forest. There were paths from the property directly into the forest and horses and deer were often seen on those walks. The breakfast was lovely.
