This was our second time in Shrewsbury and still lots to see and do. The prison is a must to visit and is well worth the entrance fee, especially is you do the self guided tour. The majority of the pubs and independant shops are dog friebdly, which is a huge bonus if your four legged friend is with you. The blitz hill museum in Ironbridge is worth a visit. We paid £26.50 each entrance fee but it was well worth the money and ypu could spend all day there looking at and interacting with the exhibits. There are some oldy worldy little streets to walk down and a walk along the river is a must. The darwin trail is well worth doing, very interesting and comoletely free

Pro's :Loved Shrewsbury , haven't spent much time in Shropshire, this town is a hidden gem and I will definitely be back . Loved the history of the town and well preserved Tudor buildings which drew me to booking a short break. Shrewsbury has something for everyone. It's a foodie heaven- amazing Market Hall with interesting food , drink and clothing outlets, spent hours here- recommend House of Yum to eat in here(Thai dining, inexpensive and well presented) plus the Gin Bar ! (with it's own Shrewsbury Gin). Would also highly recommend an Italian restaurant called Osteria- excellent service and food to an award. winning standard. The Henry Tudor pub worth visiting- very historical and really interesting interior. Shrewsbury reminded of a mini-York minus the price tag. Shrewsbury is very accessible and also easy to walk around. Cons : Be mindful a lot of the shops and points of interest such as the Castle and Military museum are shut on Sundays and the Market Hall is only open on Set days- all the more reason to go back !

Lovely town. Beautiful building. Lots of nice peaces to eat and drink, and more shops that I expected. Would definitely visit again- in spring or summer though, to enjoy a boat trip, as they weren’t running during our visit in Feb (start in March according to posters we saw).

Historic Shrewsbury is a pleasure to visit with its varied and magnificent architecture. The River Severn winds around the town with many splendid bridges. It flows through the lovely Quarry Park which includes a beautiful Percy Thrower sunken garden. There is a magnificent cathedral, castle, and prison that is rated as the 6th dark tourism destination in the world with its excellent tour. The museum caters for all ages with many interactive features for children. The shops cafes and restaurants are numerous and individual catering for every taste. No matter the time of year it worth a visit whether for a day, or as long as you can make it!

Not keen on breakfast - cheep and poor quality cereal and coffee tasted terrible couldn’t drink it. Hotel far out and cost lot in taxi. Room was good size and bed comfortable would prefer softer pillows. Towels soft. But not sure why washed them when kept on rail not good for environment which shame. Not sure if product vegan / cruelty free, place I stayed in before in Shrewsbury had both - okay but not likely to pick again. One big plus was could have bike in room. Thank you

Superb breakfast and very friendly staff. Car parking was a bit tight but we had been warned it was first come first served. We would have been earlier if Shrewsbury hadn't made the town centre one way as a trial. We could see the hotel but had to go all round to get to it. V poor. Location excellent for the town centre. Had a lovely stay thank you

Couldn't fault anything during our one night stay. Finding a place to stay in Shrewsbury with private parking is rare. The hotel is a family run concern and every effort was made to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely stay here whenever we visit Shrewsbury in the future and would not hesitate in recommending it. .

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the breakfast was excellent. The location really convenient. The hotel was excellent value for money. Within 30 minutes of checking out I received a phone call telling me I'd left my phone charger behind, so was able to retrieve it before going home.

The ambiance was quite pleasant as we arrived at the hotel, it was beautifully decorated and had a very old world vibe about it. The room was very clean with crisp white sheets, a bottle of sparkling water and a view of the bridge and street scene below. The breakfast was quickly served and delicious.
