I went just at the start of the Easter break, and it was nice and quiet, I imagine it being a popular summer resort. Good facilities with plenty of eateries. Travelling around Southend was okay, gets busy during rush-hour. Great long walks along the esplanade and the pier. A lot of the shops were closed during close-season.

I lived in Southend for many years, this was a visit to see family and attend a family gathering. The town (I will never call it a city) is a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't go to Southend unless I had a specific reason, it just isn't as welcoming as it used to be and the high street is dead.
In the summer, short break with young children who want no more than the beach and this place would be ok. There are some decent restaurants but stay out of the town centre for those.

Going around visiting places. Eating out.
Going around visiting places. Eating out. Great taxi service. Hotel was not so good. Not disabled friendly. Fell in bathroom not built for anyone who is disabled.. Hurt myself quite bad. Screaming in agony. Apart from that. Will not be staying in this hotel again

Southend (bearing in mind our visit was in Winter!)
Southend (bearing in mind our visit was in Winter!) is actually really nice. We didn't expect much (we expected Morecambe, but got Southport!). There decent shops; the promenade was clean and open. We ate in The Last Post, but would certainly try other places when we visit again.
It is hard to give a fair representation of a town after a very brief visit, but it made a sufficiently good impression for us to want to see more, when the opportunity arises

We had a fantastic time but will never bist Toby carvery"s half way house again as staff were rude and couldn't deliver on an ice cream pudding and then charged us over our Groupon voucher people were leaving by the bucket load due to the apaulling service and badly trained staff a complaint to Toby carvery is in the process.
But other than that Southend on sea is a lovely place a great beach and super shopping centre and old Leigh had the best seafood I had tasted in a long time

We originally found this location as a possible date weekend away from our son but time didn’t work out so took him too as a mini break. Worked well with him and we will come back for date night! There are lots of hotels within good distance of things. There are a number of arcades which although all have the same kind of games also share tickets which was good. The indoor fair was brilliant, I love the contactless game pass! Made us try different games and decent things on offer for tickets earned. The indoor fair rides and even more the softplay was brilliant! Extremely busy on a Saturday but was brilliant it’s big it has so much for kids to do and all three of us had a great time!
The sea life centre was great too the staff were super friendly and the animals have amazing enclosures, nice to have a mixture of animals too and they all seemed content in their enclosures.
The fun fair itself looks great with a variety of rides! Alas we couldn’t this time due to the tiny human but look forward to coming back.
Top it all there is a revolution bar as well which hands down I am so happy we found! Been once before and food is super cheap and mega cheerful! Cocktails are to die for and again the staff were great and really friendly with my son.
The walk along the seafront between funfair and sea life there is a stone and sand beach, play park and fountains for kids to play in.
Please fly surprised by how much there is to do for us as a family and as a couple and how cheap it all is!
Was only a short stay but there are tons to do

The house is lovely, plenty of room and well equipped with everything you need! Iron, hairdryer, full kitchen etc. The garden is cute and perfect for a little relaxing drink.
The location is also really good. A 5 minute drive to southend pier, and close to other local places like Leigh on Sea which is a lovely day out.
Amber and Phil (the hosts) are exceptional - lovely people and so helpful with everything we needed. Gave us tips on where to go, best restaurants etc.. Really nice people. Couldn’t have asked for more.
Amazing location, good for families!
Flat was nice and clean and had everything that you needed.
If not then lots of shops around the area to get your bits and bobs .
Beach is within distance too as well as the high st.
Zoya was amazing , really helpful, my kids loved her! She really made us feel welcome and was there to check us in.
She met all our expectations ...well done Zoya ! What a lovely person.
The location was very central to everything, a short stroll to the seafront and town centre and a short walk to the train station the other way and a lot of nice restaurants and bars. Parking facilities were good even though the car park is only small behind the hotel. The breakfast was good, really enjoyed it. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was small but had all the facilities we needed
Large rooms, clean, and well maintained.
Great food, great service, exceptionally good breakfast.
Best location in Southend On Sea, perfect for a quiet couple weekend. The town doesn't have much to offer for adults, but the hotel makes up for it. The food is exceptionally good, and despite being a busy hotel you can still retreat to a very quiet room.
Highly recommended
Breakfast was good, but not very hot and the eggs were over done. The waitress was very attentive and polite.
The room was clean and the bathroom was very clean. The shower was a walk in and was ideal for my friend and myself. who have arthritis. The hotel needs up dating in the decorating, the bathroom was very up to date. Overall very welcoming.
Ali was very friendly and helpful. However it was clear that this was a house if multiple occupation. Residents smoke and this could be smelt throughout the property.
Also was expecting one double bedroom and one single bedroom. Got one bedroom with camp bed in kitchen/lounge area. Was Ok for one night but quite unsuitable for 3 adults
Debbi and her team were very friendly, they were able to make an exception for early check in as we had a wedding reception to attend. Very clean, comfortable accommodation. Would happily recommend if you're staying in Southend on Sea, near sea and high street.
Great location, lovely host and very accommodating with our stay, have stayed here before. Room was very clean, nice and comfortable and cosy, milk, tea and coffee replenished daily. Would highly recommend this quaint place in Southend on Sea.
Location of the hotel is excellent, sea facing and close to all the activities area.

The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. we did not hear any noise from the bar below. The staff were helpful and polite. Very central to town centre and seafront.
Welcoming & friendly staff, great hotel. Our room was upgraded and very neatly set out. Extremely comfortable bed very near the seafront. We really enjoyed our time there
