I loved everything about the property! The cabin is incredibly cozy and well-equipped, plus it was spotlessly clean. Its proximity to the highway 19 made it super convenient for exploring various interesting places nearby. Moreover, being just a 5-minute drive from the town, where you can access supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, gas stations, and more, was incredibly convenient. To top it off, the owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

I loved the views of Port Hardy, but shopping in the Mall was not a great , the toilet situation was not a good experience, I would say a young person aprox 20 to 25 yrs old was in the toilet for about 1/2hr, scary as I think he was using drugs,
There were several of us waiting to use the facility

Need a car to get around.
Need a car to get around. Book tours etc before you go as very little information or advertising when you get there. We maybe should have done this and we would have found something to do!. There are walking trails but not very well advertsied. Beautiful untouched and natural scenery around that area. Telegraph Cove is a must.. Not many places to eat and very few shops.

Port Hardy is a beautiful city, but not many options for coffee shops or places to stop in for a drink other that the restaurants in the hotels. Lots of places to explore and walking trails by the Harbour and met some locals fishing off the pier by the Marina. If one brought their fishing rods, this would be a nice way to spend some time. I could have easily stayed 2-3 nights here but it's generally used as a hub for Cape Scott or BC Ferries heading up the Inside Passage. The nature here is next to none and lots of food options in the Save on Foods for those wanting to eat in. There is a BC Liquor store which has everything else you might need.

Port Hardy is a small town surrounded by nature.
Port Hardy is a small town surrounded by nature. If you enjoy beach walks, hiking, biking, boating or camping it is a great base to explore the outdoors. The North Island is absolutely beautiful and full of wildlife. Port Hardy has a great coffee shop, Cafe Guido, great bookstore with a selection of local authors - Booknook, and a great little local market Copper and Kelp, plus a good restaurant at Kwa’lilas Hotel.

A great little quiet town with trails nearby and a good place to access the NW tip of the island from. It's beautiful and we could see wildlife right out our window or as we walked along the boardwalk.

Its a great place to go see wildlife (bears crossing the road, great whale watching available), go hiking and do wilderness excursions but there is very little to do in town itself with particularly limited options for keeping younger kids entertained. There is a nice sandy beach on the Port Rupert side but it can get windy.
This cozy log cabin was perfect for our stay in Port Hardy. It was in good repair, comfortable, warm, and very clean. The desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating fulfilling any request we had for additional supplies. Housekeeping is done only if needed or when checking out. The kitchenette provided everything needed for a basic meal prep. The property was easy to locate and very convenient to the town. Definitely would recommend and revisit when travelling to Port Hardy.
This hotel offers one of the great views in North America out across Port Hardy marina. We watched seals and golden eagles go about their business as well the fishing boats and seaplanes. The rooms/beds are comfortable. Television is a good size. The restaurant at the hotel, while not elegant, offers great food and a relaxed atmosphere as well as the view. Staff are friendly and cheerful in both the hotel and the restaurant.
I loved the price which is half of what a regular hotel costs. I liked the big kitchen and small outdoor seating on the balcony. It was just a basic room, but it had extra pillows, lots of towels, a reading light and lots of outlets and good wifi. I liked the big bath down the hall and how quiet it was. They waited for us to arrive from the ferry at 1 am. That was really nice of them.
One of only a few hotels in Port Hardy, this is well located on the marina with harbour views from all rooms. Watching four bald eagles play outside the window was a bonus. It is especially close to the water taxi for access to the North Coast Trail. The staff was friendly, the facility was clean and the beds comfortable.
The location is the best - walking disatance to the bay, restaurants and wild life watching entertainment providers. However, as with all downtown cores these days, expect some not so sober people around. The hotel is quite old however, all available facilities were in working order and the price was good.
Booking made a mistake and there was no available room for us. But the manager fixed it - so we could sleep there.
It is under New Management - thats why there are lot of works in the hotel and not every room available. But you do not Hear any noise and the Manager does everything he can to help!
Front counter staff was very friendly and helpfull. Layout of hotel is "awkward" hotel is old but the very neat and clean. Fo if you are looking for amenities this may not be for you, however, if you are looking for a clean room, and friendly staff. This hotel meets the bill.
Very clean cabins with small but welcome kitchenette facilities (no stove but hotplate). Staff were super helpful and all the amenities including wifi worked perfectly. Lovely location at the estuary beside Port Hardy.
The staff at this hotel are super friendly and very anxious to please. The bar and restaurant are comfortable and efficient, and the cafe opens early for breakfast. This is an oasis of calm and comfort.
The staff were very friendly. The room was modern and clean. Having walked around Port Hardy, the hotel is an island of calm and quality in an area that’s clearly had better days.
Breakfast was simple. Nice that we could take a snack as we left the hotel at 5:00 am. Location was a little farther away from the ferry than I thought
