A great hotel in a relaxed beach side village. The hotel and village are family/child friendly. The beaches are lovely and the hotel is in a prime location, walking distance to the ferry, beaches and the waterfront restaurants, no need for a car if you just want a relaxing stay. We were surprised at the high quality as the hotel was so reasonably priced.

Marmari is a beautiful seaside town just an hour ferry from Athens. It’s a lively town with a gorgeous square and very family friendly. The downtown main road is closed off every evening to cars so people can walk up and down and children can ride their bikes with ease. So many restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from and everyone is so friendly. A few beaches nearby with crystal clear waters - and easy car ride to (15 min) to Karistos (next big town over). It’s perfect for a weekend getaway or an extended vacation all summer long. Can easily pop back to Athens on ferries that go back and forth a few times a day.

Marmari is a small village in Marmarion.
Marmari is a small village in Marmarion. We didn't see any buses running in Marmari. You can walk the little restaurant strip in ten minutes. One will need a car to travel to nicer beaches and neighborhood villages. Look for the no fuss, fisherman's restaurant for delicious sea food dishes.

An attractive little port on Evia, with beautifully sited harbour-side cafés. A good sandy beach to the north. The large village church has magnificent traditional byzantine frescos, despite being under 25 years old (it replaces a previous one destroyed in an earthquake)

This is a ferry port and nothing more.
This is a ferry port and nothing more. Most cars from the ferry just drive straight through. There are some cafes, bars and restaurants but several had closed or started to wind down early September even before the end of the school holidays. There is a reasonable gravel beach about 2 kms from town ideal for kite surfing.

This place reminds me of places I visited in Greece 30 years ago. It's a working village with a working harbour ( ferries from and to Rafina), fishing boats and the odd yacht. It's doesn't feel touristy although I believe many Greeks holiday here from mid July and throughout August so it will be much busier then.
There are plenty of tavernas along the seafront and coastal walks to nearby beaches. Expect traditional Greek food, fish and meat dishes but do ask if you are vegetarian as we found a couple of tavernas that went out of their way to suggest off menu dishes that would be suitable.
There is a local bus to Karystos which is worth a visit, do go to the small museum there which is located in the library behind the steam roller!
Marmarion does have fairly steep roads off the main seafront road and it was quite breezy for most of our stay but that helped us cope with the heat.
The beaches are a delight and the sea is warm enough to swim in. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming.
Ferry from Rafina cost us €9pp each way and takes about an hour.
A very comfortable house with a stunning view.
Inside you will find all the white appliances; each room has air conditioning. The dishwasher is also present, as is the washing machine.
The property has two terraces and two living rooms; you can enjoy your free time indoors.
You can also find some board games for tenants' fun, maps and information brochures. The host is very kind; the communication was made on the phone or Whatsup.
The views of the sea and beach were amazing! It was a 5 minute walk to the wonderful Megali Ammos beach suitable for swimming, wind surfing and kite surfing, depending on the weather. Spacious rooms, outside terraces, a well equipped kitchen. Located near the lovely port town of Marmari, which comes to life in the evening with lots of restaurants and shops, a pharmacy and at least one ATM.
I liked the big and newly renovated swimming pool and the Italian kitchen by the pool has great food with reasonable price and big portion comparing to those small tavernas outside the hotel. It's more worth to eat inside the hotel. The view from the room and by the pool is fantastic and magical. So relaxing and peaceful environment and great music. I really felt so relaxed there.
Everything was amazing: location, view, cleaning, room. The staff was incredibly friendly. They have a great breakfast. Everything is handmade by them. It s a 10 rooms hotel, run by a familiy and they give their best to make you feel well. We have eaten the best cheesecake and you should definetly ask them to cook you pastitsio.
The owners are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. They gave us home made biscuits and an okra stew, both delicious! The lift at the apartment is very useful, modern and safe. It's an easy walk to the centre of town. Peaceful, clean and well looked after.
Staff were very helpful. They even came to kill a little spider for me.
Considering the hotel was fully booked during our stay, there was still ample room to move around, to go to the pool etc. Very clean apartment and a very cheerful and happy place.
Lovely and welcoming host! The apartment was spotless and spacious! I got a free upgrade because of the low season! And I extended my stay by a day because I liked the place so much.
I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Marmari.
My family and I have stayed at this hotel for years - it is exceptional with the most beautiful views, the cleanest facility than the other hotels there, and most importantly the best staff you will ever come across!
Modern apartment, new furniture. Close to the main street, but quiet due to good isolation. Even Netflix works. Very kind owner. Hardly can find something better in Marmari. Happy stayed there!
EVERYTHING! Beautiful building, rooms, common areas and views. We Really loved this hotel. The hospitality here is so special and we will definitely return 💙
