Not much to do in that area places to see or shopping mall/...

Not much to do in that area places to see or shopping mall/town center. No museum etc.. Have to go out at least 30min or hour/s to really do things. One thing they do have 1 big Antique Store which was awsome.

I lived in Lavonia for 6yrs, I love the little hidden gems...

I lived in Lavonia for 6yrs, I love the little hidden gems the town has & all the hidden gems GA has as well. The city built a new children's park including a splash pad which was a great addition for residents & tourist. My granddaughter loved it. There are several new restaurants that have been added along with the trusted oldies but goodies. Lavonia is minutes away from the Ty Cobb museum located in Royston, about a half hour from Toccoa Falls, which is beautiful. Lavonia also boarders Lake Hartwell, which divides South Carolina & Georgia. If you enjoy spending the day on the water, visit Tugalo State Park or drive over the bridge to SC and visit Lake Hartwell State Park, both are beautiful. So much to do in this little down home town, from festivals to craft shows to flea markets. Just ask a locale what their favorite past time is.

We were very tired when we arrived and just wanted to check...

We were very tired when we arrived and just wanted to check in unload car and go eat. The door would not close nor lock. We wait for that to be fixed and for the Maintenace man to locate the recliner we were told would be in the room, there was not a recliner on the property. We did not get to eat until after 8:00. We asked for extra pillows because my husband cannot sleep laying down. He finally returned with a few pillows. It was a long, not so restful night for both of us. It was like being in two different rooms. Part was remodeled and part looked like nothing had ever been repaired, painted or ready for use. It was advertised that there would be a breakfast for us the next morning. There was no breakfast. It was a very long trip home without a good night's sleep. This will probably be our last time to stay in a Days Inn. Sorry, but when traveling we need a good rest for the rest of the trip.
