Check in is quick and painless. Ive always been given the room i booked for. There are smoking and non smoking options for the property and the staff def make sure that no one smokes in non smoking rooms. The rooms are clean and actually smell clean. The staff is friendly and helpful most of the time. There are drink machines on the property. The pool area is clean and kept up and so is the grilling/picnic area next to the pool. The area is quiet and has a safe feeling to it. Its homey and the other guests are mostly workers so weekdays are quiet starting pretty early in the evening. Weekend Have more people out and about but its mostly families enjoying the pool.

My experience was limited to the west edge of town, far from the river, but from what I could see Port Allen is a small community that was once supported by a handful of large industries that have now largely died out. These days it is slowly becoming a bedroom community for Baton Rouge residents who can afford to renovate/maintain their homes. Some sprawl is evident along the main highways where businesses are concentrated in a strip-mall fashion without any coherent downtown. The standard fast-food chains and hotels are all found close to the interstate, while local restaurants were spaced further out.

I stayed here b/c it was close to the hwy and only 40 minutes from Barnhill Preserve (check out their website! We swam with otters)
The hotel has a restaraunt connected to it. It's the first thing you see from the road. It's boarded up and people are starting to put graffiti on it. An absolute eyesore and does NOT make you feel safe at all. The temp in the room was hard to regulate so it felt stuffy (which is not good for La. weather). The positive I will say is breakfast wasn't served bc of the coronapocalypse, but they did offer a breakfast "bag" with water, fruit and a granola bar.

The price is fair.
The price is fair. But the photos on the internet were a bit misleadingly. I had a problem with how not clean the badrooms were. I rented 2 separate rooms. It was a cheap price but i didn't think that would have compromised cleanliness.

I came to visit family (the best part), enjoy the delicious Cajun food and drink (!), listen to the music ditto, and visit surrounding historic areas such as Saint Francisville. A wonderful place to visit!
I booked a room online for a pet friendly hotel.
I arrived that evening for check in and after the clerk checked me in and I asked about my pet, he informed me that pets were not allowed. He said he was aware that there are websites that list them as a pet friendly hotel.
So at 8 pm, I had to find another hotel for the night, dead tired after a full day of driving.
>Cheap;
>Visibly clean;
>Not carpeted—hard floors throughout;
>Heater, though noisy, worked well;
>Pet friendly;
>Has laundry (2 washers/2 dryers) on site;
>Plenty of parking;
>You can’t hear any noise from the XXX club next door;
>Easy driving distance to restaurants & convenience stores.
from the start, the young lady that checked us in was very polite and accomplished. she got us set up on joining rooms, explaining the hotel amenities in a breeze. Every corner of the facility, is clean, rooms are visibly sanitized above and beyond. we did not feel uncomfortable with staying here.
I had originally booked to arrive a day earlier but our job got changed to nights instead of days, I requested to change the dates in the booking app and there was no answer.
I contacted the hotel and they were happy to help me change my reservation
very cheap and very clean, it doesn't compare with some $200 hotels, but I guarantee you that you won't find a cleaner hotel for $50 like this one and the woman at the front desk is very helpful! her smile makes you feel welcome in this hotel
Breakfast was not provided but Waffle House is right next to the hotel. The hotel is right next to a highway but my windows were on the other side, so there was no noise from the highway.
Very friendly staff. The best perk was being able to pay for a later checkout time. The charge was very reasonable too. Normal check out is at 11, but for $10 you can check out at 1pm.
The lobby is beautiful. They do have a breakfast setup. Usual hotel breakfast menu - waffles, coffee, pastries, juice. The room was clean. It was suitable for its purpose.
