I usually stay in Tucumcari on my way from Az. to the mid west to visit my children. This was my first time at the Roadway Inn. I will stay here from now on instead of the other Motels in town that are double the price, and the bonus, it is on Route 66 ++++

Tucumcari is a city rebounding from the loss of rail service in the 1980’s or 90’s. The train depot has been converted to a museum. The charm of vintage vehicles and Historic U.S. Route 66 is evident everywhere. Recommended restaurants: Del’s and Kix 66.

As stated in my review, everything was great, Staff, value, cleanliness and the ability to keep my dog with me. Breakfast was great also, lots of variety to choose from. Check in/check out was a breeze.

Street signs are small but staff at Desert Inn very helpful giving directions! Stonehouse Ranch Steakhouse great choice for nice dinner, not far away! Great change from Taco Bell or McD's (both close by!)!

We always like going through Tucumcari when we travel out west. Sometimes we stop and shop. The motet accommodations were very nice. Breakfast was great.
The only thing I have a complaint about is the pet fee. Fees should be according to size of pet.

The property it self was nice enough, but my daughters apple air pods were left and the hotel have failed to return them to us even though we sent a postage paid addressed envelop for their return over 2 months ago and when we initially phoned they confirmed house keeping had handed them into the office. They now will not respond to my emails or Booking.coms attempts to contact them regarding this, so all in all dishonest. I can't find a phone number to call them from oversea's on, the number on the booking only works in USA. Disappointing they have not been returned,
This is a nostalgic trip back to the mother road in the 1960's. There are several other motels and restaurants on historic route 66 in Tucumcari that are also participating in the trip down memory lane. The Roadrunner does it very well, while giving you some nice modern touches like a comfortable king size bed and thick soft towels.
The room was really, really nice for the type of hotel we booked. The exterior made you think you were getting an inexpensive best western-type deal, but the room was more like what you find in a Marriott. Right off the highway too. 100% would recommend.
Location- this is at the end of a town that appears pretty much closed down. Dinner had to be a delivery pizza - but that’s the town, not the hotel. Michael - who checked us in and ran the bar, could not have been any more helpful!
The breakfast was amazing! I loved the packets of lemon juice and honey for the tea (I don't see that in other hotels). Also, the picante sauce was the best I ever had! They have a great selection of breakfast enhancements!
The staff was friendly, and the location was great. The cost is on average with Motel 6 chain. And they were accomodating to my need for fluidity of stay (travel delays and rescheduling) (* Big plus- Pet Friendly!)
The breakfast of the hotel was very good and the location was a nice and quiet area. I enjoyed the stay, felt like home and the staff was very sweet. Room was clean, everything worked, nothing was broken.
The location was good and the room was much nicer than we expected for the price point. Breakfast was as expected. The hotel is in the process of being updates and the results are good
Desk manager was very nice and helpful. This is a budget hotel, but decent. Bed was good, room was quiet. Heater worked. There was a coin operated washer and dryer.
Friendly and accommodating front desk. Had dinner in town and back to hotel and had the best sleep. Would recommend anyone traveling through this as area

Very cozy hotel. Beautiful decoration outside. Quite clean. Very quiet. Friendly staff. Free parking under the window. Dogs allowed. Dog fees are not expensive.
The person at the front desk who checked us in was pleasant and amicable. The hotel is ideally located in Tucumcari on one of the two main roads in Tucumcari.
