I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town.
Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.

we participated in the Olympic venues passport choice and had a wonderful time exploring and partaking at each venue.
the food at every restaurant was great, we liked the creperie and black bear restaurants. driving around was easy. We did mini golf, the visitors cruise on lake placid, had a manicure, made a bead bracelet, and browsed the shops. We also went to High falls gorge.
the scenery in the area cannot be beat, the trees, mountains, and lakes are awe inspiring. i think that was my favorite part.

Rooms very new but sterile..
Rooms very new but sterile.. No pictures on walls.Shower floor VERY SLIPPERY! Great location but parking very poor… When I complained about no parking spots available the front lady said” first come first served “.. no guarantee.REALLY? ! Not what web site says.
Very nice, clean, modern and affordable rooms close to Lake placid town center and 20 min by car to Whiteface mountain ski resort. Very communicative staff. Kitchenette including both a coffee brewer and coffee machine with complimentary capsules, a toaster, microwave and fridge. Perfect for us to make breakfast in the morning. We booked a room with a king size bed which was very comfortable.
This is a beautifully kept old-school motel. The decor is straight out of the 70s ski lodge -- wood paneling, drop ceilings, vintage appliances. So if you're looking for the latest in hotel chic, keep looking. But if you want a solid, clean, affordable, friendly place to spend a few days exploring Lake Placid and the surrounding Adirondacks, you can't do much better than this
We have stayed at High peaks several times in the past. The rooms were looking tired so we were especially happy to be in a newly renovated room-very nice. We were greeted with the traditional champagne and the chef had made brownies-nice touch. We love the location of the hotel and the free parking. The staff was great and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.
The gentleman at the front desk with a beard was very professional, friendly and helpful. Our room opens up to the indoor pool which was heated. The location is very convenient for tourists. Restaurants, gas station and supermarket etc.. are walking distance from the hotel. Main street and other tourist attractions are just a few minutes drive.
This property was amazing. 10 stars all the way. From the dining, to the couches by the fireplace, the fire pit outside, the beds were so comfortable along with the pillows, the views were incredible, very cozy and a beautiful hotel. The staff were super helpful and very friendly. We will be staying there every time we are in Lake Placid.
Accommodation is of a high standard with virtually everything you need for a stay in Lake Placid. High standard of cleanliness throughout and a well equipped kitchen if you want to cook yourself.
Visit was to experience the fall colours, which were exceptional in 2022. Trip was made first two weeks October.
We just wwnt akiing to whitwface mountain we stayed with our two kids 10 and 12 it was good after day skiing we went in tge pool and used jacuzzi it was clean. Rooms were fine we stayed 4 nights hotel is avout a mile away from tge town you gotta drive town is cute a lot to do. Mountain is about 20 mims away.
The price was a lot lower than surrounding hotels. I liked that it was a short driving distance to the Olympic center. Rooms were outdated but clean. There was a mini fridge in the room. The pool and hot tub seemed nice and open until I0pm, I did not go in them but my son and friends did.
Parking was easy. I was able to walk to many restaurants and popular spots (mirror lake, Olympic center and museum) without having to worry about driving! The room was huge and offered streaming on Hulu. The hotel even offered breakfast in the morning!
Everything! The rooms looked as advertised on the website. The staff was so attentive and the hotel is located in the middle of downtown, so no matter which direction you go you'll find awesome shops and restaurants.
The hotel is well located and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is on site access to Lake Placid. The Placid Bay hotel had some of the beet pillows we've experienced at a hotel in all our years of travel.
The view is the best, the hotel is very nice decorated. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. Pool and gym are great. Dinner at the restaurant was nice, service was good.
