This hotel was so nicely modern and clean. Location was great and staff was super friendly. We have stayed in other suite hotels with our family, and this one was the largest suite we've experienced without spending a fortune. The rooms would be great to accommodate a family with kids. Also a great, comfortable stay for business or leisure.

The breakfast was good, much better than the breakfast at Country inn and suites in Rapid City, where we stayed the previous night.

I was not informed that there would be no maid or towel service. The room was only stocked with 2 bath towels, no shampoo or hand lotion. I found an extra $10.00 charge on my credit card. I called the hotel for an explanation, it was a resort fee and told it was to cover the continental breakfast which was advertised on there site as FREE and gym and pool fee. I told them I would not pay it, after some discussion, they said they would remove the charge. I am waiting for that to happen. This used to be a good hotel at a fair price. I won't stay again

The Capitol building was nice and the surrounding grounds...
The Capitol building was nice and the surrounding grounds lovely for a stroll. There were statues on most corners - would've been nice to know who they all were - only a few had plaques. Mass at St Peter and Paul's was good - nice priest at 5pm Saturday. "Mad Mary's" was great for dinner. The downtown was pleasant for an evening (hot) stroll

We loved the city!
We loved the city! Loved the Native American Museum, one of the best we've visited! People very friendly. Great airport. We spent quite a bit of time just driving through the community and found it beautiful, clean and orderly. Especially enjoyed walking around the state capitol building and were quite taken by the sculptures of prominent citizens, etc. If it wasn't for the weather, (we live in a desert climate), I could imagine living here. Zestos!! Donut Shop! Especially the island park - beautiful!! We ate at restaurants outside Pierre. We are a retired couple.

Pierre was just an ok place.
Pierre was just an ok place. It was about 3 hours to Mount Rushmore and just under 2 hours to the Bad Lands. There was not much to do in Pierre and not too many actual restaurants to sit at. Only 1 restaurant for a sit down breakfast that was not fast food. We were there for a wedding otherwise we would not have stayed there.

I love how this is the state capital of South Dakota but it's not a huge metropolis!! Beautiful scenery with the Missouri river running through it, just a nice stop to stay on the way to Black Hills or Yellowstone.
Bare bones run down motel style. Very poor quality bathroom with dirty tub, floor and walls. Used toiletries, strange set up in adjacent building next to main lodging. I didn't take off my shoes because it just had the sort of vibe you wouldn't want to get too comfortable in. Needs an overhaul. Drapes were falling down and the set up of the room was weird and dysfunctional. I've stayed at better Motel 6's and Super 8's. This definitely falls in that bracket but on a lower end.
We stayed on 5/1/2021. Buunko at the front desk was friendly and caring. The first-floor rooms are down five stairs, which was interesting. The room was comfortable and we were thrilled to find working guest laundry. The best part of the stay? The hot breakfast in the morning. After sleeping very well, we checked out with full bellies. 100% would stay here again.
Grade: A
Very pleasant stay in the lovely city of Pierre. Conveniently located on the main road into the city but close to the Capitol, and other city centre sights. Check in was smooth, rooms clean and comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful (especially Mit, who went of his way to help identify an annoying, constant droning noise in our room).
Front desk for my evening check-in was welcoming and personable. The lobby, stairs, hallways, and room all were the same level of very good cleanliness. Beds super comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. Great value for a stay. And Pierre is lovely.
Full hot breakfast with lots of items to choose from. The hot tub was the right temperature and the jets were working (not always the case with all hotels). Great location to the river and the main strip of restaurants, businesses, etc.
The front desk person helped us get into a new room because the cleaners hadn't cleaned ours when we arrived (at 7pm). So that was nice, but that was about it. I guess the location within Pierre was ok, as it was near the center of town.
We chose the hotel for the hot tub and pool. We knew it was going to be closed the next day for renovations but when we got there the hot tub was closed. Talk to three different people with 3 different answers on the situation.
The motel was on the "main drag" as you enter Pierre, so easily accessible. We were unable to sample the breakfast as we departed very early, but it was nice to have that as an option.
