The city is crowded in the Centro area of Plaza de Armas, but that provided a lot of interesting attractions. We preferred to wander by foot instead of taxi for bus therefore we saw a lot. Be aware that the area business area closed for SIESTA. Some restaurants closed right after the lunch crowd until the next day, therefore the area are really quiet after 6 pm. Be spending time to visit the Santa Lucia Hill (a lot of uphill steps) and the Central Market where there are a lot of restaurants inside and outside. A must to linger about the street vendors with their merchandises displayed on the streets (which are everywhere in Santiago). Must visit two churches and two museums in the Plaza area (advice: the churches are perfect place to rest). Temperature was 60 to 75 in mid March 2024.

Lots of great things to do and see in Santiago.
Lots of great things to do and see in Santiago. Would recommend the pre -Colombian museum and the Memory museum. The Bellas Artes is a lovely building too.
Take the cable car or funicular to the top of Cerro San Cristobal and enjoy the views of the city - there is a huge outdoor pool halfway up so get off at that stop and enjoy a swim!
The Cerro Santa Lucia is slap bang in the middle of the city and is lovely.
Easy to get around by bus and metro.
lots of cool bars and good restaurants
The huge Bio Bio market on a weekend is worth a visit - food, antiques, plants, art - everything really

We saw the 3 top things that Trip advisor recommended.
We saw the 3 top things that Trip advisor recommended. Very glad we did those in 2 days. I would have liked to have spent more time in different barrios. We had our 20 year old daughter with us who can look 15 years old. We were warned 3 times by different people to watch her closely. We were in the tourist areas. It really freaked my husband and I out.
We usually rent a car on vacation. We decided to take Ubers. First time using Uber and would do that again in a heartbeat. It would have been very stressful to drive ourselves in Santiago.
Santiago is a beautiful, busy city. We stayed in Barrio Providencia. Very safe, I could live there:). Beautiful parks to walk in.

Many friends of mine in South American coutrie s say that People in Chile are the least friendly among laten America. It cold be natural for Chileano like that in their daily lives. But for the visitors like us, it was a little dissapointment to be treated bulky way. in many situations such as In the Taxis or hotel receptions. Of course, i met very kind people in many places in Santiago de Chile, the capital city. But many of them are not amigitos like Peruano.

Interesting city – especially Barro Italia, which is a very cute district, repeat with restaurants of every kind and standard as well as multiple Shops, including clothes and craft shops.
The usual rubbery problem of many comparable cities exists. I was robbed in the middle of the city near the main Square in the Colonaid of the museum of pre-Columbia art (excellent Museum of the first order). it was a set up. We knew we were being followed, but didn’t manage to avoid frightening incident, when someone came towards me on the colonnade of the museum, lunged at me and snatched at my necklaces, which were not very valuable. One was a thin gold chain, the other was everyday beads. The centre of the city is considered to be the plaza de Armes– A place I would avoid if I go back.
The staff here are very helpful. One staff member even put a delivery meal on his personal credit card for us when we needed a takeout meal because my husband was ill and my credit card wouldn't work and my cash was short! They also booked airport transfers for us and a sightseeing trip and for a fee, they had a room ready for early check in when we arrived at 9 am after an overnight flight. The hotel is well located for exploring the downtown area. In general this was a comfortable, central city place to stay!
The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood (Providencia), sufficiently close to the metro station and to a mall (Costanera center), where you have plenty of food options as well as supermarkets and many stores.
The staff is great and friendly. We appreciated the kindness of Cecilia, one of the hotel receptionists.
The breakfast was verry good and included "English breakfast" hot food.
My best advice is avoid hotels in Santiago City center: it is unsafe, it is not pretty after dark and usually more expensive.
The hotel is located at downtown Santiago so it is very central. There is a metro station next to the hotel; there are lots of restaurants nearby. You can find food through several apps almost every time.
Felipe the barman at 5th floor works with energy and he was very kind with my family, my son, wife and pet. He is 10/10. Thanks a lot Felipe!!
At 5th floor there are live music every Thursday and Friday. It is great with good sound and good dj and saxophones.
The location was perfect: It was close to the tallest builing in Santiago, the new large shopping mall and a Hop-on Hop off bus stop #9. It was on the street where there are other good tourist hotels that made the area safe. Welcome Pick up service (not by the hotel) took us from the airport to the hotel straight and then took us to the airport on the day when we were leaving. It was very efficient.
It's not a large hotel but it is very modern and well equipped and very well staffed. Most importantly its location directly overlooking the Park Forestal, close to the very touristic Lastarria district, the MNBA and Bellas Artes station make it a very good choice indeed to visit Downtown Santiago on foot.
I had a short night in Santiago Airport (connecting flight over night) and for this the hotel was perfect. Clean, great shower, great bed, spacious room. Good bar for a Good Night glass of wine. The hotel is conveniently licated between the national and the international terminals.
Modern hotel close to airport with shuttle service. I was flying in and flying out the next day so it was ideal rather than go all the way into Santiago city. Nice pool. Great restaurant with good food - breakfast was good. Shuttle well organised.
The location between Alameda Terminal and Estacion Central is ideal. The airport bus dropped me 5 mins walking from the hotel. I also thought the rooms were very nice and the staff are exceedingly professional. Great stay at a reasonable price.
This is the best hotel I have stayed in in Santiago. Very welcoming and friendly stuff, everything is neat and in order, hot shower, comfy bed, ample breakfast, and excellent location to explore the city on foot. I highly recommend it.
An old house recently converted into hotel. Excellent price located conveniently in barrio yungay between downtown and parque quinta normal. Nice space, friendly staff, charming esthetic, good price, the place has a lot going for it.
I loved this beautiful boutique hotel, housed in a century-old, renovated building in a beautiful part of central Santiago. The staff were very welcoming and gave my partner and I a lovely little tour of the place when we arrived.
Good place to stay if you are using the airport . The airport shuttle is a bonus . Breakfast also good with a big choice on offer . Hotel also has the facility for keeping your luggage in between trips to and from Santiago .
We loved the interior design of this boutique hotel. The welcome drink and breakfasts were excellent. Rooms comfortable, wifi good, but best of all was the staff!
