The location was beautiful; directly beside the river so we fell asleep to the sound of water streaming down from higher altitudes. The traditional feel of the Japanese ryokan was perfect.

It’s a new hotel so facilities and rooms were amazing! The onsen is great and the dinner and breakfast package was a good deal for the price.

Most friendly owner and staff. Best & beautiful food for both breakfast n dinner. Wonderful private spas: the Hydrogen spa by reservation only for 40 min each night of stay, with another 2 other spas available with no limits of use. As there are only 6 or 7 guest rooms, you can always find one available most time. We appreciate the lovely deco and live flower arts all around the ryokan. Of course there was the nice but short music performance at the end of dinner to compliment your stay.

We enjoyed the mixed-gender onsen, it was perfect for our honeymoon. The kaiseki-style breakfast and dinner was unique, fresh and delicious. The traditional style rooms were beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. We especially enjoyed the riverside view from our window.

Big rooms with amazing views. The onsen was incredible and especially in the winter mind blowing my beautiful. The dinner and the breakfast were also exceptional. They catered to vegan and gluten free requirements as well. The location was remote and you have a unique onsen experience where you get a to switch off and relax and do nothing but eat, bath and sleep. You also get to pick a Yukata for your stay as well.

This was my second stay in the autumn, and both times were magical! The outdoor baths are gorgeous in the early morning and at night. It almost feels like a movie set. The traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner were tasty, seasonal, and of good value. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff provided water, tea, and local snacks. All of the staff spoke English and were super friendly and accommodating. This will be my and my friends' go-to for a getaway in Japan.

Beautiful location and buildings built on both sides of a river. Incredible food (dinner and huge breakfast). Spa was wonderful and not crowded at all, even insects didn't bother (late August). All in all great value for money with traditional-style rooms, yukatas to wear while staying, dinner, breakfast and shuttle service to and from train station.

    - This was such a relaxing place to stay at, the onsens were amazing! Was definitely a nice place to unwind and get some rest towards the end of our trip - Both dinner and breakfast were amazing - The room was spacious and clean. We really enjoyed being able to stay at a ryokan - Travel from Tokyo was very easy as it was easy to book the shuttle bus to and from the place from the train station

Wonderful stay at traditional, spacious and cozy room (worn out but charming) with river view. Beautiful hot indoor and outdoor baths (yes, they are hot near the water source and warm further from it - not cold). Free shuttle bus twice a day and in the morning. Dinner and breakfast were great, staff wonderful. The whole experience depends on a room and building you choose, we were in the main old building and had private separe for dinner and breakfast.
