Just brilliant. Super friendly staff, great in room facilities. Right there at Ambleside town centre. Great views from the room. Perfect place to go and visit for 3-4 days and snooze off from the bustling city life.

Located in the heart of the Lake District and just 5 minutes' drive from Ambleside, Foxghyll Country House offers free WiFi access and free on-site parking. Set within 3 acres of private gardens, this large country house dates back to the 1600s and has direct access to Loughrigg Fell.

In the mornings, guests at the Foxghyll Country House can enjoy full cooked breakfast. Breakfast superb. Owners very friendly and helpful. Rooms good size and very comfortable. Great location with short walk into town. Grounds spacious and well kept. Maps, torches etc available if required.

Guests can enjoy the spa and fitness amenities at the Choices Health Club, which is 2 km from the property. A maximum of 5 guests can use the leisure club's swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, solarium and gymnasium. John, the owner, was very kind and available when we needed him. The house is really big and it has everything you may possibly need for your stay. The place was also clean and close to many shops, restaurants, and other fabulous villages! We are a couple with four small children and we definitely felt at home!

It offers delicious cooked breakfasts, free Wi-Fi and free private parking, less than 10 minutes' walk away from Windermere Railway Station. Breakfast - perfect, all cooked to order. Good choices. Owners are extremely helpful and can recommend places to see/things to do. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Location good, close to Windermere village/eateries and pubs etc.

A few mins walk to the towns. Host was friendly & welcoming The room was super clean. All we needed Bed was comfortable Breakfast was filling & lots of options
