I was upgraded to a bigger room and I had my own outside seating area. Excellent and plenty of choices of food for breakfast. The restaurant also served delicious lunch and dinner. The location was safe and quiet. Security on property. Friendly owners and staff. The back up generator really helped when the whole Zanzibar lost power for several hours.

The location is great, the private beach and the pool are clean and cosy. The room is huge and I had all I needed. The food was very good and they have a large choice for all kind of dishes, from local to international. The personnel very nice and attentive and the excursions organised by the hotel were great. Special thanks to Nasser for taking such good care of me!

the Hotel is really tiny! (5 rooms total) Which is nice, personnel knows you, knows what you like and you know them as well. Short way to breakfast, to the pool or reception. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and supporting. If you need something, there is always somebody to help.

Best thing about hotel is that you can ask whatever you want and 99% of your wishes come true.
As European I like some things made differently as they are in Africa but if you ask the hotel staff makes it!
As example I can say they make awsome tuna stakes if you ask them! And they also add rum to your coconut if you ask. So the main tip is - ASK!
Moreover, as experienced travelwr I have been reading reviews about the hotel and two things were very disturbing (a) that the selection of food os not very rich; and (b) that the tides make the sea go away for a far far way.
To tackle that I shall say that (a) food is good and changes everyday, so even on 11 night stay you will have a varios optios to choose from (especialy if you are into sea food); (b) tides are constant but there was no day with out sea at your foot steps to the pool, meaning that some times you have to wait half a day before sea comes back but it eventualy does.

Kiwengwa is a perfect place to spend time with the family. Exquisit nature, kind people and the best food. Boat trips, beach activities, village strolls, getting to know the culture of local people who are very knowlegeable about the natural agriculture and extreemly kind and nice. We loved every minute of our stay at Kiwengwa.

I loved the colour, clarity and temperature of the water.
I loved the colour, clarity and temperature of the water. The sand was so soft and almost white. I didn't like the hassle on the beach though. It was easier to stay at the hotel to avoid it. But that's not why you visit another country!

Quiet part of the island with beach among the nicest.
Quiet part of the island with beach among the nicest. That meant fewer people and tranquility which was what I was looking for during that trip. The hotel was also exactly what I need. All the facilities (gym, massage, sports activities) + excellent food at a reasonable cost. And Fatma the day manager was great. A wonderful person and soul

Front Office led by Victor was outstanding and exceeded our expectations
The restaurant and other staff were extremely courteous and helpful in all circumstances.
The Food and Beverager Manager Zablon is a kind and focused man, results oriented.
Very spacious and stylish room, nice pool with great view with many sun beds available. We liked the garden with lovely plants and of course the bush babies! The hotel has a secluded feeling, away from the busyness Zanzibar sometimes can be. This was our last stop on a two week trip on the island and we very much enjoyed relaxing and winding down at this place. Also very happy with the generous check out time allowing you to still enjoy the facilities and having the time to take a shower before flying home. Thanks Marafiki!
Zanzibella is the best place to stay in Zanzibar. The location is perfect and the rooms are super clean and very big and comfortable for a couple. The staff is so friendly and especially Chaimae with whom we had close communication even before our trip and arranged everything for us. She was even there when she was not working. She made our stay wonderful. The beach is very quiet. The food is exemplary and they provide good entertainment with too many shows. I would highly and with no hesitations recommend Zanzibella.
Our family found Z lodge after a disaster of a stay in Kiwengwa main beach,
we moved from our original hotel and found a great deal with these guys,
they helped us with excursions, Mary the owner and my wife made really nice photshoots on the beach swings,
and the kids played in the pool all day,
I had some time to go fishing with the local fisherman,
special treats from the kitchen all day, big tuna's to the north,
speak to sule the manager and he will fix you with all your needs.
Location is fantastic with direct access to the beach, the staff was amazing, I felt being part of a family and not staying in a hotel. They had an answer to all of my requirements, extremely kind, helpful, supportive and patient. Good fun and conversations. Food at the hotel restaurant is excellent, some of the best dishes I tried in Zanzibar.
I can’t wait to be back in this location and enjoy everything once again.
Thank you for making my holiday in Zanzibar simply unforgettable.
I think it is the first time that I give a hotel 10/10 and full in every category. This little boutique beach hotel is a hidden paradise in Kiwenga on the east coast of Sansibar. The owners are very friendly, make everything possible and created their own little home. There are only a few rooms, so it is very exclusive. Breakfast was a selection of different elements and it was delicious. So, if you want to leave the stress behind and simply relax: go for Boho Boutique.
Perfect Start for our Trip around the island. small Hotel, authentically runned in Perfect Spot directly by the Beach. staff is very friendly and Helpful but without being pushy.
Special thanks to Arnold for his excellent service. Always having a smile for all of the guests and helping with his straight tips.
Food was delicious - we Recommend trying the local specialities.
If we travel to zanzibar again, we will Come back!
We had a very nice stay in Kiwengwa at the Z-Lodge. The Staff was very nice, food was very good and our room was very nice. There is not much around and the beach is quite small. But in case you enjoy a quiet, relaxing stay, this place is very nice. Of course the hotel also offers tours and transfers. We used a transfer to go on a Quad tour in Kiwengwa which was super nice.
Wonderful resort right on the beach as the pictures show. Clean, great staff, nice food. Rooms are nice and spacious, with massive balcony's and modern furnishing and finishes. But has some Zanzibar charm. The owners are also very helpful for their guests. I generally loved it. Thank you Zanzibella
Excellent hotel in an incredible setting. Great facilities, room was very clean and bed very comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food with different choices for dinner every night. We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much and recommend 100% if staying in Zanzibar.
The most beautiful little hotel on Zanzibar island. Very well equipped with everything you'll need. After having travelled around the island and spoken to friends, we can guarantee that Imara's beach is one of the best. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.
very nice location-directly on the beach, perfect stuff, you can go for a walk on the beach, there is a big supermarket about 15min walking. we spent almost 3 week in Zanzibar (4 hotels) and the breakfast was the best here.
Room is clean ,beach view .staff is very professional and friendly. I enjoyed my stay there . It is like paradise.Flesita and Sasha were amazing and the rest of the staff also . For sure I will come again. Kwaheri Zanzibar
truly an oasis of enjoyment ….
