Awesome views and history seemingly everywhere you go. So much to do and see. Has options for the lone traveller who just wants to chill or the family who want to be more energetic. A beautiful place to visit. The Abbey is definitely the star for me .

    Whitby is my favourite town.

Whitby is my favourite town. It’s so full of history and hasn’t been ruined by new buildings. There are plenty of cafes and shops. The Abbey makes a very interesting visit. However, the parking rules & prices are annoying.

Wonderful and busy resort, lots of little cafes, traditional pubs and restaurants. Shops were very quaint and lots of crafts. Its very hilly and streets are sometimes cobbled so you could struggle if you have walking difficulties or use walking aids or mobility scooter/wheelchair.

    We love Whitby!

We love Whitby! Been before so know it quite well…the ambience of the town with bustling harbour and the old cobbled streets across the estuary. A few miles from the NY Moors and a totally different landscape. Easy transport links including the steam train. Proper seaside holiday destination.

    Love Whitby.

Love Whitby. There is plenty to do, great eating out and it’s easy to walk anywhere if you are reasonably fit. The Abbey is stunning and the events/drama staged are amazing. Equally, there are superb places to visit like Robin Hood’s Bay, Saltburn and Sandsend close by. My very favourite English seaside town. Favourite places to eat: Abbey Wharf and Cranberry Swamp (for breakfast) We ate at Pescado Lounge on this trip: great food.

Our room was spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was generous and a bargain at the price we paid. The hotel has a lovely quiet garden and an honesty bar means you can enjoy a relaxing drink before turning in for the night. The location was ideal for walking into Whitby and the picturesque village itself has a nice pub and a licensed cafe further along the river where you can sit and enjoy a nice drink and a meal. There are some nice local walks nearby and you can hire a rowboat or a kayak to enjoy an hour on the river.

Location . Best area in whitby to stay I would say as just a short walk/cut through to town centre . But in a quiet location. Had parking area there was space when I arrived. Also in area where promenade and beach is. Classic traditional British hotel.complete with a actual key to the rooms . I booked bed and breakfast one night I stay in a lot of hotels and I can’t think Iv had a better breakfast . Quality the service spot on. Cooked to order I will take up the evening meal option if I am up this way again .

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Room was spacious and the location was fantastic - around a 10 minute walk into town, minutes from the beach, public parking opposite the hotel at £9 for 24 hours. Whitby open air tour bus stopped outside (hop on/off service with history talks). Restaurant/cafe easily accessible. Rooms had gorgeous views. Fan & hairdryer provided in room.

The customer service at this hotel was amazing, the staff were so attentive and helpful. The food in the restaurant was superb, and I loved that some was sourced from the hotel kitchen garden. The spa area was very pleasant. Location is fantastic as it is just outside Whitby but close to the seafront and is in very secluded and private grounds.

A perfect stay in a very comfortable and beautifully maintained cottage. An easy 5-10 minute level walk into the centre of Whitby via the harbourside. Great for viewing the passing trains (don't worry, there is less than one an hour, if they aren't your thing!). Lovely views across to the harbour and up to the Abbey.
