A nice hotel in a nice location.
Just across the road is the entrance to the Basilica of St John, but take care as the entrance to the castle closes a lot earlier than the Basilica.

The hotel Bella was in a prime location across the street and a block away from the basilica of St. John. It was also very near to the center of town and a quiet little neighborhood. Emphasis was a short drive away.
Interesting town, with many restaurants and sights.
Interesting town, with many restaurants and sights. The aqueduct is very impressive. We walked from our hotel to Ephesus to avoid moving the car. It is a long walk, but we enjoyed it. Ephesus is well worth a visit, but very crowded. I especially recommend paying the extra to see the townhouses, which are very impressive and give a quiet break from the crowds. The museum was good, and the St. John Basilica complex interesting, with lovely views. The House of Mary was in a nice location, but with incredible crowds. We had to wait at least an hour in line for a 3 minute walk through.

Loved Selçuk but a few things went wrong when locals tried their best to help us with planning.
Visiting Ephesus do search for the "Official Site" which is a government based site. We were told 3 different opening times by taxi drivers etc and everyone was wrong. The extended summer opening hours are available only a few days of the week. We paid E120 for 3 adults for 90 minutes inside, 30 of which we had the site staff constantly blowing whistles to get the crowd moving along. A very small sign at entry stated 7pm closing (missed it), when we had expected 11pm closing.
Train to airport (9am) was delayed an hour so we needed to organise a shuttle last minute. Shuttle E80 which we split between 5 of us waiting at the train station all needing to catch flights.
The Old House restaurant was the tastiest food we had found in Turkey.
Ephesus museum in town is very good and worthwhile an 2-3 hour visit.

Two full days (3 nights) were just right in Selcuk.
Two full days (3 nights) were just right in Selcuk. Day 1 was a full-day small group tour of Ephesus and other sites further away (House of Mary, Temple of Artemis). Day 2 was a leisurely walking day in Selcuk, visiting the excellent Museum (which has lots of statues and friezes from Ephesus), the Isa Bey Mosque, St. Johns Basilica and the Aya Soluk Castle on the hill, which are all close to the Homeros Hotel. Selcuk itself has lots of lovely cafes and restaurants and is pleasant to explore.

Stayed for 2 nights which was probably one night too short.
Stayed for 2 nights which was probably one night too short. Besides the ancient city of Ephesus, which is the main attraction, there is an interesting museum and a old fortress and basilica which are worth a visit. Also the mountain village of Sirince, which is a 20 minute trip from the downtown Selcuk minibus terminal (with several trips an hour), is a fun visit for half a day. There is a brand new major bus terminal on the outskirts of the downtown area which makes intercity bus travel convenient, plus the train station is basically right downtown. Taxis seem to operate on a 200 lira minimum regardless of the distance so that can make getting around town a little pricey, but most everything seems to be within walking distance unless you have luggage.

The perfect place to base yourself to explore from. Breakfast alone is worth the stay - a variety of traditional hot and cold savoury items. Definitely the best breakfast we had whilst in Turkey.
The room itself is spacious, tidy and very clean.
Çosku was an incredible hostess who gave us detailed and accurate advice on sightseeing and restaurants which meant we got to experience everything Selçuk and surrounds had to offer in a relaxed way.
Will definitely make the effort to come back next time we're in Turkey
Breakfast was amazing, a lot of different dishes, the best traditional turkish brekfast I've eaten in Turkey. Room was absolutely new, and very interesting shower in the bathromm with lot's of dirrefent moder to use. People were very friendly and helpful.
Yes I went to Selcuk,Ephesus, Turkey for a special event on the 12th & 13th October and was met with a warm welcome at hotel Ave Maria. This hotel is well located and very friendly as they helped me out a lot on my trip and is like home from home to me.
The hosts were super friendly, gave us good tips on where to eat/what to visit.
Breakfast is a typical Turkish breakfast, the best we had in Turkey. The jams are home made with the fruits from their trees.
