There are many museums to visit, but simply walking around the city itself is such a treat (and I imagine this would be true in all seasons). I was there in the summer. There are great meals, drinks and coffee to be enjoyed. I walked mostly, yet transportation is excellent. Vienna is also a great location to add on to other European cities you might be traveling to. Beautiful, clean, safe city with friendly people – but not very dog-friendly Vienna really impressed us with its cleanliness and well-maintained appearance. The city feels very safe and well-organized. Everywhere we went, people were kind, polite, and open to conversation – it gave the city a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I especially appreciated how traffic is managed: there are speed cameras throughout the city, which keep drivers in check and make walking around feel safer. For such a large city, weekend parking was surprisingly manageable – definitely a bonus. One downside for us as dog owners: Vienna is unfortunately not very dog-friendly. Dogs aren’t allowed in many places, especially public indoor areas, which made it a bit tricky to explore freely. That said, I do understand the need to protect historic sites and keep everything clean. Still, Vienna left a very positive impression overall and is absolutely worth visiting! Only stayed for 3 days. Nowhere near enough time. We only scratched the surface. I think, with hindsight, 5-7 days needed.
