Comfort. Clean. Close to Airport. A really nice place to stay. Totally recommend. We stay here before all our overseas flights as they have a free pick up for the airport which is an amazing service. Plus good food in the restaurant.

The hotel is in a very nice area on a hill with a garden across the street. The breakfast also had a good view of this garden. The full breakfast was eerily similar to what was served at a hotel in Wellington and another hotel we stayed at. There was a room set aside for you to sit and read or work on your laptop, but no eating or drinking was allowed. the hotel was quite close to the downtown entertainment, shops and restaurants.

FAQs about hotels in Auckland

Thrilling City of Sails and Volcanoes

Called the "City of Sails" due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbor, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia. Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly is a blast!

Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sports events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of Viaduct Harbour.

Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 630 feet!

Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

Getting to the city center is an easy trip from Auckland International Airport. Find modern hotels, comfortable motels and cheap hostels on Booking.com, sure to have the perfect place to stay for your trip.

Just to add ease to your trip, do use Apex Car Rentals. We walked in without a booking and within 15 minutes, we were driving a great condition Mitsubishi SUV away, no deposit, no fuss, friendly quick service from Auckland Apex near Naumi hotel, which you need to stay at for a great relaxing atmosphere with a great sized room for an even better pricce, just to forget all the travel stress. From there if your heading south from Naumi Hotel, driving in you Apex hire car, you absolutely must stop at a fish n chip shop you'll spot on the right hand side, on a small rising, called Fish Faze. They make everything you see in the fridges, other that punnets of oysters and mussels. Everything else is perfection. Real generous fish and delicious chips, but I have to mention, you MUST get a tup of their home made seafood chowder. UNREAL.

Good location, close to airport and manawa bay shopping center aswell as my appointment. Bit of rain but luckily that was at night so I could still enjoy a bit of sun during the day. Traffic is busy early around 7-9am and really busy 5-630pm. Manawa Bay is the new place to shop aswell as eat. Lots of discounts. Manakau City, Botany, Sylvia Park, Auckland City and Albany all great places to go.

Sadly Auckland in general. Good hotel that i stayed in but i would never recommend for anyone to walk around the Queen St CBD area after 8pm. Its too rough with way too many nutters wondering around. Viaduct is fine but thats about it.

Very convenient location in Auckland city centre, right opposite the Sky Tower with easy walking distance access to the airport bus drop-off and pickup location. Also close to bars, cafes and a Woolworths store. The apartment was clean and tidy with the basic kitchen crockery, cutlery, microwave and dishwasher. The room was better than I expected for the price we paid and it was fairly quiet being right in the city centre. The pool, sauna and gym looked good, but we didn't use these facilities. The shower had good water pressure.

The easy parking is a big bonus here compared to other cbd hotels. The rooms with balconies are best. They have a bit more room and you can open the windows/door and have fresh air. The hotel is in a leafy suburb so you're not surrounded by the noise of high rise buildings in the concrete jungle. There's a few good restaurants within easy walking distance and the Domain, which is just a jewel in the Auckland CBD landscape. If you get a room on level 3 or 4 there is a lovely view over the harbour as well.

We like to leave a day and have a comfortable bed in between flights. What could be more convenient than walking out of the terminal and straight into the hotel. A restaurant, room service, flexible arrival and departure times; Auckland and the Novotel combo is a favourite stopover. If it was a little cheaper it would be better but it is a bargain compared to say Changi airport hotels.

I admit to being a bit dubious about staying at Auckland Airport Kiwi Hotel because it was so cheap compared to other places, but I ended up being really impressed for the following reasons: Excellent value for money. Reception open 24hrs. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant on site. Buffet breakfast 7-9.30am. Room and bathroom clean and roomy. Easy onsite car parking.
