My wife and I are both hoteliers, so we naturally pay attention to details when we stay at a property. We chose Manisa Hotel for a two-night stay to celebrate our third wedding anniversary and unwind after a stressful period. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations.
From the start, we encountered several issues: a dead cockroach in the bathroom, a non-functional phone, and a sink tap that came loose in my hand. Our so-called balcony was just a concrete space with two old plastic chairs and a sunbed without a mattress—not exactly a comfortable spot to relax.
Service was inconsistent. There was no bartender at the pool when we wanted to order drinks, and despite a confirmed request for a complimentary cake for our anniversary dinner, it was not delivered on the first night as planned. However, the cake was eventually brought to us during our second dinner, which we appreciated.
That being said, I must highlight Miss Manuela at the reception desk. From what I observed, she is the one truly holding the hotel service together. I am not sure of her exact position, but in my opinion, she deserves a role such as Operations Manager. Her professionalism and dedication stood out, and she went above and beyond to assist us. The staff tried their very best to assist despite the hotel conditions not being in great shape.
Overall, the property has potential, but it needs better maintenance and attention to detail. As hoteliers, we understand the challenges of the industry, but we also know that guest experience is key. With the right improvements, this place could offer a much better stay.
Best Regards,
Gino and Inna.

This hotel is a real gem! New building in an amazing location just across from a lovely white sand beach in Flic en Flac. My room was HUGE and had a large balcony facing g the ocean. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with lots of variety of food. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!

Great day, Welcoming was warmful. I didn't catch the front office lady's name, who checked us out also, was courteous and professional. Neesha ( forgive me if wrong pronunciation) organised a cake for my daughter's birthday, we appreciated very much for this special day. Staffs very friendly in general, barman Vishal very helpful.
The pool was enjoyable. We were alone in the pool most of the time.
The hot section buffet was interesting. There was enough to choose for a good, enjoyable dinner.
One night there was nice.

Lots of restaurants, stores and a nice beach to watch the sunsets. We ate supper at several different restaurants and every meal was top notch. Our favourite was octopus curry.
On a sad note, stay away from the TIGADGET Store above the Jumbo supermarket in Flic en Flac if you are looking for a Emtel tourist only SIM card. He charged us 1500 mur for the same card you can get at the airport for 750 mur. Not a good start to our vacation.

I would like to inform you that I had a bad weekend due to the bad experience of trusting booking. COM.
I reached Flic en Flac yesterday with my partner and to our surprise, the phone number which was provided in the email confirmation after payment, the number does not exist. We had wasted nearly 3 hours to look for help and we were surprised that that there is not even representative of booking.com in Mauritius where would have sought for help.
This is really unprofessional and we would appreciate to know if we shall be refunded.
Await for your prompt reply.

This location is great as a starting point for excursions for the whole southern part of the island, where most of the attractions and tourist sites are located, including boat trips to dolphins and the southern islands.

Hotel very close to the beach and restaurants.
Hotel very close to the beach and restaurants. Next visit to Mauritius I would split the vacation time between west coast and east coast. That allows to visit sites and activities and reduces time for taxis rides.
Flic en Flac is a small town on the west coast but very busy and lots of traffic.

What I appreciate about the location is its proximity to the beaches, given the frequent warmth during the day. The unfortunate aspect is that some drivers fail to exercise caution, and I am unsure whether the right-handed driving contributes to this issue. I had a harrowing experience where a car collided with me while reversing, which was my worst nightmare 😱 as a visiting tourist, and it nearly ruined my trip plus the victim who caused this wasn't as nice though attempted to help earlier.

Les 2 Canons saved our vacation! We booked this property last minute due to a failed booking at another property and our stay at Les 2 Canons exceeded our expectations in every way.
For the price paid, it is truly exceptional value with beautiful views and the friendliest of staff. We couldn't have asked for anything more as a great base for us to explore the west and south coast of Mauritius. Thank you!
The room was basic but comfy. The sheets were in great condition, the room spacious and the staff really friendly. It would have been nice if they had some water for sale since it's not considered exactly safe to drink in Mauritius, because after arriving from a very long trip the last thing you wanna do is go get things at a store. Besides that, it was a good place for a night.
Our stay at Sugar Beach was and absolute joy - an experience of a lifetime! The architecture of the resort, friendly staff, cleanliness and unforgettable sunsets make this resort a standout resort in Mauritius!
I really liked how the Landlady was available to help incase of transportation and advice in regards to tourist activities. We were welcomed warmly and this made our stay in Mauritius warm.
