The staff were helpful and the single room was a good price value, but the room with two beds was so cramped that it's hard for two travelers with suitcases to be comfortable for anything but a very short stay. The beds were comfortable, the room was just claustrophobic. The "spa" area was clean. There is a subway station very close to the hotel and so many options for stores and restaurants. Very convenient location and felt safe everywhere we went.

Almost every aspect of the hotel experience was exemplary. Cleanliness could not have been better. Fresh towels every day unless you ask otherwise. Immaculate bathroom with a tub and a shower. Typical Japanese toilet (though no brush) and a whole host of complimentary items available in the room and in the lobby. As Japanese hotel rooms go, the ones at Daiwa Roynet Premier are a bit above average in size. The staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. I made use of the laundry service - which is fast, expertly done and affordable - and having them hold my luggage for me, which they did free of charge. Perfect air conditioning everywhere in the hotel, which is needed in the summer months. You will find no shortage of fresh towels, slippers, hair- and toothbrushes and bottles of water delivered to your room every day or on request, free of charge. Soap, shampoo and international chargers also available. Room lights also have a dimmer switch. Rooms can only be accessed through elevators by use of a room key, so a much reduced likelihood of anyone not staying at the hotel accessing your room without the staff's knowledge. This means your belongings are all the safer. There's a 7/11 attached to the building which can be reached via elevator and a Family Mart and a bakery in the next building over. Breakfast offers a fair selection of dishes from both western and Japanese cuisine and is reasonably priced and high in quality, though don't expect the peak of luxury either.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

We loved Japan - cruised for 12 nights and then spend 5 days in Tokyo. Loved every minute of our adventure. The people are wonderful, respectful and kind. So much to do of quite a variety of sights to see. The train system is amazingly efficient and once you get the hang of it quite easy to navigate.

Endless amounts of restaurants and shopping options.

Endless amounts of restaurants and shopping options. Super crowded no matter what time of day and Tokyo in July is not recommended. It was extremely hot and humid. The train and subway transportation cant be beat. Despite the weather, it is an awesome place to visit. Tons of walking, might be difficult for younger children and elderly.

Such a fabulous city - so many things to do and see. Extremely clean, safe and everything so manageable. Taking the trains everywhere is easily done with the purchase of a Suica card and Google maps! So many restaurants to choose from - and all very good. Service everywhere was impeccable. Prices very reasonable, taxes included, and no tipping! Tokyo and Japan one of THE best places to visit...

I was born in Japan and have been there on and off throughout my Life. It has changed so much in that that there are more foreigners now than there ever was, so Japanese have come to put up with them, but not everybody. I speak the language having been born here which makes it easier and adapt to Japanese customs. ("When in Rome, do as the Romans do!") It seems more crowded than usual with all the tourists, which brings patience into play here. I feel the younger Japanese are changing, not like I am used to, but that could be everywhere as I'm used to and familiar with the "old" Japan.

Lots of souvenirs to buy so bring an extra luggage. Amazing food. 7-Eleven stores did not disappoint. We lived on 7 Eleven food 😆. The Making of Harry Potter studio and Teamlab is not to be missed aside from all the surrounding areas. We ll be back. Do your research as there are too many things to see.

I actually liked the location as it's well located by the metro station and it's midway between Shibuya/Shinjuku to the west and Asakusa to the north east. The area around the hotel is quiet and corporate but if you walk around you will discover a fair few bars/restaurants about 10 minutes away. Rooms were spotless and had a Japanese style bath and coffee capsules were provided everyday. The rooftop onsen was a welcome touch

Location was amazing! 30 minute walk from either Shinjuku or Shibuya, 10 minutes away from the national gardens, right next to the baseball stadium and 15 minutes for Meiji Shrine. It was also right next to a station. You also get views of mount Fuji on a clear day from the roof terrace which was a wonderful bonus. Such great value for money in comparison to other hotel prices in Tokyo.

Loved the spacious layout - kitchen, bunk beds, table to eat at, separate bathroom and toilet, washing machine. The karaoke was so fun and the projector. Kids loved the bunk beds. Electrician husband was impressed with all the outlets/lights/tech savvy additions. The face masks etc downstairs were a fun addition that we loved.
