The location was ideal for travelling on to the West Country and was a perfect place to break a long journey. Andover was very pretty and had a few pubs and restaurants nearby. A lovely towncentre during the day but when trying to find an evening restaurant it is lacking . One pub that had good trip advisor reviews no longer serves food leaving only Weatherspoons or Pizza Express unless you like Chinese or Indian. I've never seen so many Turkish Barbers in one town! Andover has pubs and bars, supermarkets and plenty of places to eat. There are enjoyable walks up to the Ladies Walk where you can see across the town and also to Charlton Lakes where there is a play area for kids. It is a quiet town very convenient for visiting Winchester, Salisbury, the New Forest, Newbury, Whitchurch and Southampton. Anton Lakes local Natural Reserve gives a good opportunity to relax sitting on a bench and watching wildlife birds.
