This was my third time at the Gilson. Every stay has been great. The staff are very helpful, the rooms are always comfortable and clean, and the location is the best in Hull. The train station is only a 2 minutes walk from the hotel, a Wetherspoons is across the street and the museums are only about 10 minutes away.

So close to Hull's old town and Marina area. Great for a night out with thinking about how to get home. Cheaper than a taxi home to South Cave 😀

Hull is a great place with lots to do!

Hull is a great place with lots to do! We did a history walking tour of Hull giving us a new perspective of its place in the past!! Fantastic walks near the Humber bridge with beautiful areas for picnics, play areas for kids etc. Lots of local parks with great scenery, small animal areas and aviaries. Great selection of Museums in Hull several aimed at kids like Streetlife and the Old School room...all within short walk of each other. Plenty of food options 😋 catering to everyone's tastes.

Lots of things to do, a very historic City with so many amazing buildings. The old town is fantastic and the people are so friendly. There are lots of bars and food places and the prices are reasonable. Public transport is plentiful and cheap, although everything in the centre including the main attractions are within walking distance.

A lovely hotel with lovely staff, though the room was basic it was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, air conditioning was a bonus in the hot weather, lots of good restaurants and bars within walking distance, the hotel drinks were very reasonable, we would definitely stay again.

It is a much improved city. Great culture and architecture and 9 fabulous museums. The city centre dock area has a great deal of history. It is also a good jumping off port for Europe. The people are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Good place.

At present, there is a lot of road building work in progress and sometimes you have to figure out a way across main roads. Some central areas seem very dilapidated and in need of tlc. Other than that there are some very interesting attractions with the Minster, aquarium, museums and art gallery - all within walking distance. The riverscape is impressive in its size although low tide is basically mud. The city has a long history and this is best reflected in the area designated as Old Town where narrow, cobbled streets have been retained. Picturesque, if hard on the feet.

This was our first visit to Hull.

This was our first visit to Hull. Nice old town area but access to the marina area and the Humber was difficult due to construction works on the busy dual carriageway main road. Only one distant footbridge plus a road underpass further east. The Whittington and Cat pub looked about 200 yards from our town centre hotel on a map but required a trek of over half a mile to reach for a very good meal. The museum area in the Old Town is recommended. The Streetlife Museum is one of the best of its kind and has two neighbouring museums as well, No admission charges. No pressure to make a donation but please do so.

Needed a break to relax and the village hotel is perfect for that. Its just far enough away from main hull that you could be forgiven for thinking you wer mma world away from. HULL!. But not so far as to cost too much travelling. The spa and fitness centre is everything we hoped it would be, £5 on top of room price is astounding for unlimited access to swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. I went with my friend as a girls weekend and 3njoyed the majority of time spent Definitely a 👍, one to be repeated at earliest opportunity!

Good location for visiting Connexions Arena and Hull centre. 5-10 minute walk from the train station. Clean and Comfortable enough room for our 1 night stay (although my partner was disturbed in the early hours, by 'drunken revellers' on the main road outside the hotel) The staff we encountered were all very friendly.

I went to Hull to see a band at the Bonus arena. The hotel was situated a short walk away from the venue. The twin room was clean and the beds were comfortable. To say it’s located in the city centre and above a pub it was also quiet.
