A stunner in the middle of wilderness! If you could choose, try going when snow has appeared. Looks like winter wonderland. Reaching the hotel is advisable via your own car. Public transport is available but may take a while to reach. Tip: Carry water/snacks from Coop at Meriengen (short stop before going forward to Gadmen). The lodge experience is truly calming. Anna at the reception and the rest of the staff are a delight. They would go lengths to make your stay comfortable. We had booked for 8 people but the other family became sick hence only our familiy of 4 reached the lodge. Anna updgraed us to a large room for 4. Room was quite spacious with a splending mountain view. The whole village was covered under snow and the peace of the Alps was all encompassing. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the snow. The dinner at the restaurant was quite good. We had Rosti, Alpiner pasta and chicken wings with fries (finger licking fries). It is recommended that you do have the dinner at the lodge. We would surely want to come back. Thanks Anna for making our stay a delight.
